  • Phonics and Engagement

    Funded Feb 27, 2023

I wanted to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude for your invaluable support in making the "Phonics and Engagement" project a reality in my classroom. Your contributions have elevated my teaching and profoundly impacted my students in ways that words can hardly describe.

The "Phonics and Engagement" program has been a game-changer in my teaching journey. It has provided me with a structured and comprehensive approach to teaching phonics, allowing me to better my craft as an educator. The program's explicit and systematic nature has not only ensured that I cover all the foundational reading skills essential for proficient reading but has also helped me become a more effective and confident teacher. Following the carefully developed scope and sequence has enabled me to deliver instruction with precision and certainty, ensuring that each student systematically acquires the necessary skills. The result is that my students are learning to apply these skills with automaticity and growing in confidence as readers. The program has truly become an indispensable tool in my classroom, helping me meet the diverse needs of my students.

One of the most memorable moments in my classroom, thanks to this project, was when I witnessed a struggling student who had been facing difficulties in reading suddenly have that "light bulb" moment. The excitement in their eyes, the beaming smile on their face, and the newfound confidence in their voice as they read aloud were truly heartwarming. It was in that moment that I realized the transformative power of this program. It doesn't just teach students to read; it instills in them the belief that they can be successful readers, which is an immeasurable gift to their future.

Your generosity allowed me to provide this incredible learning experience for my students, and I am forever grateful for that. As my donors, you have had a glimpse into my classroom and the positive impact your support has made. But your encouragement has also fueled my own desire for growth as a teacher. With the success of this project, I am excited to further develop my skills in differentiated instruction, ensuring that I can cater to the individual needs of all my students. I am also eagerly looking forward to teaching upcoming topics in language arts, where I can implement the strategies and techniques I've gained from the program to enhance their reading abilities.

Once again, thank you for your generosity, your belief in the potential of our students, and your investment in their future. The impact of your support is immeasurable, and your trust in our mission is deeply appreciated.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Powers

  • LiPS Is for Reading!

    Funded May 9, 2023

It has a been a great start to the new school year thanks to your generous support of the LiPS reading program! When students are provided with a different way to connect sounds to letters, brains grow and reading scores dramatically increase. All of my students benefit from the multi-modal approach to reading in LiPS.

I have seen student engagement and reading scores increase in just a few short weeks of using the program daily.

Thank you for trusting me with your donation to make a difference in the lives of my elementary students. Everyday we are working to close the achievement gap. This research-based program is proving that students can make big gains in their reading skills when we have the right resources in the classroom.

    Sincerely,

    Mrs. Haldeman, Learning Specialist K-5”

  • Learning With Lasers

    Funded Sep 25, 2022

We are taking it slow and learning carefully. We have had a few stubbles but with every misstep, we learn and are able to try again with more knowledge. This laser engraver will give students the opportunity to see their imagination come to life and make something beautiful or practical. Thank you for supporting students and giving them a hands-on real-life experience that isn't common in public schools. Your generosity shows students that there are people in the world that want them to do great things. They are the future and your support makes them want to create the change they wish to see in the world.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Powers

  • Ready... Read... Study... Battle!

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students are so excited to be a part of the Oregon Battle of the Books competition. This year they placed first in the school level battle and went on to place 6th at regionals. We are already starting to read the books on next year's list! Thank you again for showing student the generosity in our community. When people donate to schools, not only are they supporting teachers, but they are also sending a message to students that they matter and that school is important.”

  • I See Me and I Believe!

    Funded Dec 4, 2019

Thank you for your wonderful donation of books and LEGO stem kits. We have been empowered by learning about all the various people who have succeeded in technology fields that have such varied backgrounds and idenities. We have been learning that we can do anything when we believe big and work hard.

My students have been loving to code our LEGO robot and they are so excited for more. We also hope to soon incorporate more LEGO into our other stem kit. But most of all we are humbled by the generosity of people who have donated to our classroom. Thank you! Thank you!”

  • Wiggle, Giggle, and Grow

    Funded Dec 11, 2017

My students were so excited when our boxes arrived. They were so touched by the generosity. Every week students get a chance to choose what flexible seating option they want. We have been rotating the seats around and every week someone new gets a chance to use your donation. We are working harder and staying more focused with the resources that you have provided. I also believe that the stability balls and cushions are helping build stronger cores in our students. Thank you from the bottom of our seats and our hearts!”

  • Teaching Tolerance Through Literature

    Funded Oct 18, 2017

Thank you so much for bringing more books to our classroom. We have just begun our novel study for this book and the students are beyond thrilled. Some of them don't even want to open the book to wide because they don't want to crease the spine. In this book, the power of words is a key element and we begun today talking about the power our words hold. A student brought up the connection that this book "Out of My Mind" is even more powerful because these words were given to us. Also, this book will allow us to learn not only about powerful words, but about the kindness we need to show all people regardless of their appearance, capabilities, etc.

Thank you for your gift and kindness.”

  • STEAM Dream... A is for Art

    Funded Sep 20, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom STEAM project. We are excited to begin using technology to showcase our artistic processes. Unfortunately the amazing deal that was going to allow use to get 12 iPad wasn't able to be fulfilled by the supplier but we were still able to get two iPads with your donation. This is still wonderful but has changed the way I have been able to carry out the projects. So far we have photographed our artistic processes, and made green screen videos. After winter break we are going to be able to set up a stop motion art station, this will be a collaborative art process where student will add to the project and we will photograph each added element. We are so excited to use this technology in a new and artistic way.”

I teach a wonderful group of students. My students are kind, hard working, and boy do they know how to persevere! I want to open their eyes to the larger world around them through art, science, history and literature. Many of my students have never left our community let alone state. These students are eager to learn, apply, and discover the world around them and the people we share it with. I want to give them the world!
