  • Mural Magic!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Your generous donation has made it possible for our school to move forward on our school mural. The new paint will help us add finishing touches to our mural. Our mural abuts our beautiful school garden and is seen by everyone passing through.

When we unboxed the materials, students were excited and eager to get started. They loved the variety of colors and were chatting about all the adjustments they planned to make to our school mural. While we have a lot more work to do, we now have the tools to do so.

While we are currently in the winter season, the plan is to continue with our mural this spring. Thank you so much for your support!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sodre

  • Getting Creative With Cricut!

    Funded Mar 27, 2024

Having the Cricut in the classroom has enhanced the art learning environment. We are using the Cricut to help bring our designs to life. Students are creating designs to use for personal water bottles, laptops, classroom signs, and decor.

When we unboxed the materials, students were excited and eager to get working. Most students had never seen a Cricut before but had seen why and how it was used all around both their school and everyday life.

We will continue to use our Cricut, especially with our after-school art program, to bring students' designs to life and improve our school environment. Currently, our students are working on designs to go above our water bubbles & bottle fillers.”

  • Keeping Things Tidy in the Art Room!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

We can not thank you enough for your generous donation to our Art classroom. Your donation has helped our class greatly in our attempt to develop expectations around a clean classroom environment and student responsibility.

With you help from you we have been able to develop a routine around end of the class clean up and accountability of our workspace. Students have used the spill proof cups for their papier mache glue to prevent spills. They have used the soap buckets and rags to clean up after themselves after each messy assignment.

Students have developed a sense of responsibility with these materials that they no longer need a prompt from me and get the materials and clean up on their own.”

    With gratitude,

  • Keeping Our Technology Safe!

    Funded May 12, 2023

The students at the Daley Middle School can't thank you enough for helping keep their technology safe. Thanks to your donation that our students have been able to get creatively messy while their Chromebook's stayed cradled safely in their designated baskets.

The baskets have helped students in grades 5, 6, 7 & 8 take initiative and responsibility for their technology. Students know right away when they begin a painting or paper mache project that they have to put their chrome books safely in their baskets.

Thanks to your generous support we have been able to safely enjoy the use of our technology and working hands on in Art Class.”

  • "Safe Art Kits"

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

We are beyond thankful for your donations. Our Art kits have allowed us to safely store our individual supplies and have also allowed us to work on more hands-on projects too. This brings some normalcy to a very strange year.

This school year I am traveling to each class and the students stay put. The kits have allowed safe storage for supplies and advanced projects.

We started paper mache sculptural letters and have used the boxes to not only store the supplies but act as individual drying racks for each student.

Thank you again for helping make this project possible!”

    With gratitude,

  • Bully Prevention / Student Recognitions

    Funded Nov 23, 2020

Our Bully Prevention/ School Culture Team at the Daley Middle School cannot thank you enough for donating to our project. Throughout the year we have been recognizing students for their acts of kindness and goodwill towards our school community, classmates, and teachers.

Currently, we have a recognition form that students and staff fill out online to recognize a student or classmate. Our Bully Prevention/ School Culture Team reviews the recognitions and chooses two students a week to recognize. The students meet via zoom with a member of the team and the principal of the Daley Middle School. our Principal Mr. Skinner congratulates the student and talks with them about the significance of their recognition.

The students then get to view a slide show of prizes they can choose from.

This is where your generosity helps us the most. Students can choose a prize from the slide show as a reward for their kind or inspiring act.

The prizes are what the donors choose project helped us fund. We are able to run this program with the help of all of you.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for helping us continue this wonderful program.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sodre

  • Oh, the Messes We'll Make!

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

I wanted to personally thank you for your donation to our classroom project. I cannot begin to tell you the difference in the cleanliness of our classroom and workspace since receiving our materials. They have really come in useful in keeping our classroom a clean and inviting space.

Students accountability has taken on a new meaning. Students are more than willing to pick up a paint spill because they have the materials to do so easily and quickly. In fact, my students often want to be the person in charge of the mop and cleaning up the paint spills.

The availability of dustpans and brooms has also made a huge difference in my the student's ability to clean up in a timely manner. There is no arguing over materials or pleading with students to clean up now that they have the resources they need to do so.

Thank you again for supporting a local classroom and helping to make our classroom a more productive space. I look forward to keeping our space neat and tiding and instilling the value of a clean workspace in future students.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Sodre

My middle school students are hardworking and talented students with a knack for creating. They look forward to coming to art everyday and take great pride in their work. For a percentage of students, this is their last opportunity to be in an art class. If my students are not able to take art in high school, this is their last opportunity to shine and for those who question whether or not they will keep up with their talents this could be their last push for a future with art.
