  • Love of Reading!

    Funded Sep 8, 2015

Thank you for the willingness to support not only your child, but to support the love of reading for hundreds of children. This will impact student lives for years to come. I try to give my students every opportunity to love their learning and have all the resources needed to keep them engaged and excited about learning. This applies to reading especially. Many beginning and struggling readers have a hard time finding books that grab their attention and get them hooked on the love of reading. By giving the kids the opportunity to tell me the books and series they want, this engages them in the ownership of their learning. With so many titles they requested I am only able to make sure everyone has their choice with help from donors like yourself. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Smithpeters

  • Architecture, Engineering, and Economics!

    Funded Mar 31, 2015

I can not express in words how much your support means to myself and my students. I strive to provide meaningful learning opportunities for my students. I try to do hands on real world activities to help them be better engaged and to solidify the knowledge. Many times this requires materials, which we do not have. I purchase a lot of items myself but am unable to buy everything that is needed. This is where donors like yourself are so vitally important to our class and our learning. Thank you for taking your time and money to help build the future one student at a time.”

  • Let's Get Reading!

    Funded Oct 13, 2014

This year we are trying to go deeper with reading and to give our students multiple options throughout the day to read. A huge part of the students moving further in their reading, is a student knowing their sight words. With the new reading/sight word books, the students are able to work in small group with me, with a partner, or even practice independently to memorize more and more sight words. As a child learns more sight words they are able to read better and increase their comprehension and fluency. Thank you for supporting all of these beginning readers and helping them to be successful.”

  • Science, Tools, and the Economics!

    Funded Oct 23, 2014

This year with new science standards, we are trying to do a more inquiry based and hands on approach to teaching science. With our new science discovery boxes and kits then students are able to really dig in and learn science the way it was intended. This allows the students to do more labs and hands on lessons instead of just watching a video or listening to me teach. They are so excited for science time each day and can't wait to see what we are going to learn each afternoon. Thank you for supporting our efforts and helping us change the future of scientist.”

  • Lights, Cameras, Economics!

    Funded Jul 24, 2014

My words could never truly express the gratitude we have for your generosity. By you helping to support our project, you have given the gift for technology to come alive in real world learning in our classroom. My class is now able to have two of our classroom jobs as photographers and bloggers. Technology is such an important part of our world and teaching in today's culture. Part of my job is to make sure when my students leave my classroom, that they have learned skills that will help them in their future. With all the technology push in common core, it is important that we also get the technology into their hands daily through their learning. This is only possible through partners like yourself. Thank you for supporting our students, their future, and my vision for them.”
