SEAL Interactive Canvas Classroom
Funded Feb 22, 2023Thank you so much for your support in this project. We work tirelessly to make sure that our students have engaging activities and are able to interact autonomously with these activities as well. These lessons have helped support that work and give students things to do like learning about their career ideas, engaging in SMART goals and other learning objectives that they can do while also engaging with their peers in groups and conversating about the work after in circle. Having these lessons have been exciting for students, particularly our new students, because they get to come in and instantly feel engaged when they are added to canvas and can jump right in and see the work that we have done in the past too.”

Diversity and Inclusion Book Resources for School Counseling
Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you so much for your support in creating a library that showcases diversity and teaches about justice and equality. These books have been able to be used in both the virtual and in person environment with the counseling team but also, teachers can check them out for classroom read alouds as well.
I think that these books are so important as it allows kids to perhaps see themselves in a story, understand another person's perspective or learn about about a current or historical injustice. This allows our students to learn about themselves, others and become advocates.
I am so grateful to have books that can range from kindergarten to fifth grade.”

This classroom project was brought to life by FamilyAlbum and 7 other donors.Digital Counseling Lessons
Funded Jan 16, 2021Our whole school was impacted by this project! We have been able to purchase digital lessons for classrooms and individual counseling sessions. In addition, I have also been able to purchase items to help students in the classroom that have been digital and to use for signage in the counseling office. This has been a great support as much of our school has been digital this year, and moving forward we will continue to implement more digitally as well.
Some of these digital counseling lessons have been about coping skills, interactive games that give students the opportunity to practice skills or have been to support other SEL initiatives.”

Distance School Counseling Project
Funded Aug 9, 2020I wanted to reach out with a heartfelt THANK YOU for all of these amazing books as well as the ability to get evidence based and engaging lessons for our students from TPT! These books have helped us in classroom lessons as well as providing asynchronous read alouds and activities for our BES students. The books are utilized as social stories to help teach monthly concepts. The TPT lessons are paired with the monthly goals of SEL, Mindfulness, Diversity/Inclusion, Coping Skills etc.
Reading in our classroom has been done virtually or recorded read alouds. This has been a source of connection to our students in a time where connect is vital! All of our students have loved reading out books from K-5! The biggest grade levels that love our stories are K-2 as story time is a huge thing in those grades. We spend time reflecting on our stories and letting the students center the conversation after the story. What we learn from them is HUGE too!
I am looking forward to using many of these books, as well as our learning activities from TPT, for all of our classes in 2021 as well. Books are truly a gift that keeps on giving. Our TPT lessons have influenced our classroom lessons, small group lessons and individual lessons in a way that will change how we do these lessons forever. Both of these resources have created more engagement, conversations and learning than we could have ever imagined without them. Our students have been able to benefit from this project so much already and I know they will for many years to come.”
