    Thank you so much for your support of me, my school, and my students. Your donation helped us to stock our Grizzly Student Store and contributed to some of the social emotional lessons we do in the classroom.

    The students absolutely love coming to the Grizzly Store and there excitement has really increased the value of our Grizzlies. We love being able to reward our students for all their hard work and great behavior. It also is a great way to support our students struggling with their behavior and motivate them to try their best.

    We were also able to use some of our extras as well as other community donations to provide a thank you for all our teachers and staff. Thank you again for your support. It really means the world to me”

  • Learning to Calm in Our Calm Down Corner

    Thank you so much for helping to make my calm down corner a possibility! This space is of great use for students in all sorts of situations. Many students use it as a space to regroup on there own and use the posters as reminders for ways to cope and calm down. And many students get comfy and play with the puddy, playdough, or building foam and feel more comfortable talking and opening up because of this space. This space is something students of all ages love ranging from my 5 year old kinders to my 5th grade preteens. Thank you for supporting me and all my students. I truly am so grateful!”

The goal of this project is to create a safe space for students to express their emotions and learn to calm down using their chosen coping skills. This will also be an area of learning healthy coping skills for when we are stressed, sad, or overwhelmed and a place to practice these new skills. The large square pillow can be a great place for a student to calm and practice their mindfulness techniques. Or my students can pick between the stability balance disc or chair ball to get out their wiggles before returning to their classes to learn. Students at this age are developing rapidly and often need support to calm down their big emotions. I would love to create a space where we can help this to happen. If students are not calm then that makes learning so much more difficult. I want to help support my students social and emotional growth which will, in turn, support their academic learning!
