  • KISS (Kids In Need of Sensory Supports)

    Funded Mar 10, 2016

Our students are loving all the sensory supports they received. When they first saw them they were so excited to use them. Everyone got to try different things so they could see and feel what works best for them. Teachers are saying that the tools are great and really help their students. There ability to manage behaviors in the classroom has improved dramatically. How the tools help you ask? Students can sit on the rug with their peers, they can finish classwork and engage in group work. They have their sensory needs met in a way that allows them to be part of their classrooms with out being isolated or embarrassed. The sensory tools are a tremendous benefit and we can't thank all of you enough for your generous donations!!!!!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Shmaeff

We are a public charter school and have a very diverse student population. We have students from many different countries and whose families have a variety of socioeconomic needs. Our special education population makes up 16% of our total enrollment. We are proud to be a full inclusion school and all students are taught in general education classrooms. Students at our school, supported by the Charter’s Learning Community, will use their unique attributes to achieve a broad base of knowledge integrated with the arts and technology. In order to achieve success on a global scale and be well prepared as 21st century learners, our school will create a diverse community of engaged citizens who treat others with respect, value friendships, and demonstrate a work ethic that exemplifies perseverance and responsibility.
