Scrabble is a great way for students to build vocabulary and improve spelling skills. Students will be able to play with a partner or individually. The game keeps my students engaged and focused on building and learning new words. They challenge each other when unknown words appear on the board. By using the Scrabble Dictionary they will validate their words and learn how to properly use a dictionary.
This year I will use the Scrabble Lock Tile boards as a center my students will rotate through during the literacy block. All students will be able to play regardless of academic ability. I love that Scrabble can be altered to allow students of any academic level or language barriers to play.
Help me build my 4th-grade student's vocabulary through Scrabble.
