An Organized Space for Bilingual Learners
Funded Aug 7, 2024Thank you for your support in making our classroom an organized and inviting learning space. We used your generous donation to buy a new meeting rug for whole group mini lessons, bookcases for organizing books and to set up a calm corner, and bulletin board paper to set up decorations on the walls. My students have been enjoying their learning space and taking ownership of keeping it clean each day before dismissal. The different areas set up in my classroom promote calmness, collaboration, and creativity as they use the resources available to amplify their learning.”

Learning and Moving
Funded Sep 17, 2024Thanks to your generous support for my dual-language immersion classroom, my students will be receiving another flexible seating option and some sterlite containers to keep our crayons organized and easy for them to access when one is broken or missing from their individual crayon boxes. These items will be useful in our classroom this year and we would not have them without your kindness.”

Funded Aug 24, 2020My students and I appreciated your generous contribution to my classroom when the COVID-19 pandemic hit the US and public schools had to quickly transition to distance learning. The materials in my project really allowed me to use learning materials that captured student's engagement when teaching online. I used the magnetic desktop whiteboard to show how to spell words during literacy and also used it in a variety of ways for math. The magnetic ten-frames were a great tool as well that was used to teach number sense. Thanks to your help, every student received materials that helped them learn with the teacher.”

Rubber Bracelets to Support Emotional Regulation
Funded Mar 14, 2020Thank you for your generosity for this project. Thanks to you, I am now able to more easily identify students who are emotionally disregulated in the morning before we begin our learning. Being able to have students use these bracelets to represent their emotions as they enter our class has really been a great pathway for developing peer to peer and teacher-student relationships. It is a great tool for everyone in the classroom to build empathy, compassion, and learn coping skills for emotional regulation.”

Reading Like a Champ
Funded Sep 11, 2019My classroom has been enjoying the black stools that you generously contributed to. These stools are used at my teacher table where I do small-group lessons for reading and math. It gives students another option for seating, rather than their desk's chair. I also enjoyed having put up more classroom decorations to promote positivity and encourage perseverance in the class.
The students have used the reading rug a lot, as well as the black saucer. The black saucer chair is an option in my classroom for students who have stayed on task during their 20 minute independent reading 4 days out of the week. They can sit at this chair on Friday's. This is a great reward option for them! Thank you!”

Getting Flexible With Seating for Reading
Funded Aug 23, 2019We appreciate your donation. My students and I are using the new resources daily in the classroom to help facilitate independent work. During literacy centers, students are able to use the carpet area to read a book or complete work rather than sit at a desk.
The students enjoyed the materials and I saw that many of them loved to use the rug area along with the pillows. We also use clipboards almost daily to complete work together as class on the carpet during the morning.
Our next steps are to continue adding books to our library!”
