  • Lap Desks for Littles!

    Funded Nov 13, 2024

Thank you again for all your generous donations! We could not do our jobs without the kindness of people like you!

The day the lap desks arrived, the kids were so excited to open the boxes and start using them. They can the week of Thanksgiving so we used it to incorporate being thankful for the generosity of strangers. Since then, we have used them daily to support our learners with disabilities and those without. The children love bringing their work to the carpet and setting up their new desk. This has especially helped those who struggle to see by bringing them closer to the smart board and those who can't sit at a seat all day and need the flexible seating.

Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!”

  • Matching T-Shirts for Our Amazing Field Trips!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you for your generous donations! We had our first field trip just after receiving the shirts, what great timing! Having the same shirts made such a big difference when trying to keep track of the kids. Also, the kids loved the shirts! When we showed them the shirts the morning of the trip, they were so excited! Throughout the day we were given many compliments from passersby about how great the shirts looked! Thank you again for helping us make this project come to life. Without your kindness and generosity we wouldn't have been able to get all these fun shirts!”

  • A Little Bit Of Everything 3

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for your continued support to help make our classroom a wonderful place! We have been using all the materials and they continue to make our classroom a better environment. We love the file folders and the basket, they have helped to keep students work, letters, important papers and so much more organized. The Epson ink is always wonderful because we do so many projects in our classroom, that you can never have too much ink! And of course the cardstock is always beneficial to getting projects done and we use that so that these kids can keep their projects for a long time without them falling apart quickly. Thank you again!!!”

  • A Little Bit Of Everything!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

Thank you for providing our class with these wonderful materials! We have been using the plastic folders to allow children to get their own center when they finish a lesson and have a few extra minutes. It provides a wonderful opportunity for them to use extra time in a productive way. The children love the magna tiles storage bin/play mat, not only do they provide easy storage for our magnets, but the kids can use them to make shapes and patterns with the magnets. Our new book bins have not only made our room more bright and colorful, but allowed us to sort our new book in a way that the kids are able to find a book when needed with less assistance. Thank you again, we are so grateful for your generosity!”

  • A Little Bit Of Everything 2

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations! All of our materials have arrived and we are in full swing using them! We have used the blocks during center time along with the play dough. I can't even begin to tell you what a difference the water bottles have made! Our room gets pretty toasty during the day and the kids being able to have their own water bottle has lessened the distractions and gave us more time to focus on our work. We have begun using the new snap cubes during math which have replaced our old ones that often didn't stay attached anymore. Again, we thank you for the generosity you have shown our class and could not be more grateful!”

  • Snacks For Success

    Funded Mar 1, 2022

Our snacks arrived! Thank you for your generosity! Having snacks available to give to the children help in so many different situations. Some children come in having not ate breakfast and don't like the breakfast being served in the school. In these situations we are able to offer them a healthy snack which helps them focus better throughout the day. We are also able to send a snack home each day with those students who we know their family may be going through difficult times. Having this project funded always makes a huge impact in our classroom. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!”

  • A Little Bit Of Everything!

    Funded Feb 7, 2022

Thank you for supporting our class! Our materials have arrived and we have begun using them. The Cricut mats have simplified the process in getting projects ready so that the teachers can dedicate the time to working with the students. Of course in kindergarten, you can never have too much construction paper or glue! Both of these are used on a daily basis for projects and making the work engaging and fun. We are using the plastic folders for sight word practice daily and the pencil holders so we don't lose anymore pencils! Thank you again for your support!”

  • Book Bins For The Win!

    Funded Apr 7, 2022

We have begun switching all our books from our classroom library to the new bins and what a difference it has made! The library is colorful, engaging and kids can easily find a book they need. When it is time for the children to look for a book to read, not only do we support them in reading the labels on the bins, but our struggling readers can look for the color basket. We thank you so much for your generosity in supporting our class and helping to make our kindergarten classroom fun and engaging. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts!”

My class is a class of 25 kindergarteners with unique personalities and varying academic levels ranging from kindergarten to 2nd grade. We are a kindergarten ICT class, 40% special education students and 60% regular education students. My students are part of a larger school community of about 700 students. Compared to other New York City Schools we are much smaller. While our small size has a lot of pros there are also many cons; one being the lack of space that our school has along with a smaller budget. While we try to use our budget wisely providing a great deal of resources for our students, we often do not have many of the things that we need to help all our students be successful.
