Hands On- Developmentally Appropriate Learning Tools

Funded Aug 22, 2018

Thank you for helping us build our fine motor skills, social skills and academics! The students absolutely loved any project that they were able to use the gator tweezers, fun scissors and shape punchers. Any academic center is immediately more fun and interesting when you add these tools. I love that they secretly build their fine motor skills that so many are lacking coming into kindergarten.

I have heard the words "best day ever" several times this year. They usually come after I bring out another new item graciously donated by you. You made those days happen! Our hands-on center time is everyone's favorite part of the day.

It is hard to share the fun and the impact you have had in only 6 pictures. When kindergartners are given the right tools and a lot of love, their growth is endless. Many of the items that you helped supply could be used for different ability levels and skills as you will see. These are just a few examples of how we will continue to use your gifts all year. Some of my friends were even able to explore word building and eventually sentence building so early in the year with the hands on center manipulatives we received. We will continue to build off of these centers.

I have placed a specific picture in our 6 posted pictures that does not have a student using materials. Instead you will see the product of all of the fine motor practice that you have helped to provide. There is a beginning of the year coloring sample with more recent samples. You can see the difference in their quality and ability level. Imagine how this will continue to transfer over into other areas of their academics! I love the wild ride of kindergarten and can't wait to see their growth continue to amaze me! Thank you for supporting me and my students!”

With gratitude,

Mrs. Sasala
