"Smart" Supports for Star Students
Funded Oct 23, 2024I cannot even begin to express my gratitude for your donations. I never thought that in such a short period of time I would have a fully funded project. Whether it be a connection to the Worcester Public Schools, to myself, or to supporting ESL students- you chose to donate to my project and it has made a huge impact.
The students were so excited the day our televisions arrived. They were all eager to enhance our learning with better technology. Our shared space is used for ESL instruction and special education services. Now, our classroom is more interactive and exciting for our students with multisensory approaches to learning, specifically with technology.
In preparation for our Thank You package, we began to discuss what it means to be a "donor". You have provided my students with a wonderful new way to engage them in their learning, but you have also taught them one of the most important lessons about giving back. Thank you so much for your generosity!”

"Warming" Our Community With Kindness
Funded Nov 4, 2023I cannot begin to thank you enough for your generous donations. Because of your gift, our community has new warmth that was created through kindness. Working together as students, staff, and community stakeholders, we were able to organize a school-wide project that produced more than 30 blankets to donate to our local children's hospital. With the erxta fleece, we are creating scarves for our community. With the crafting materials, the students created "Kindness Tags" for the blankets and scarves with uplifting messages of hope and love. Thank you for helping us to make a difference in our community and share kindness with others.”

Funded Sep 12, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donations. The students in my classes were able to create portraits on their choice of subject. It was interesting to see what interests the students had. From flags of their countries to sunsets, they all enjoyed creating their own works of art. Describing their work was the next part of the project. Using adjectives, students were able to create videos where they spoke and described their portraits in detail.
My original goal was to display the portraits as a gallery at the school, but so many students asked if they could take their paintings home. We decided to take photos of each portrait and display the photos on a bulletin board at the entrance of the school, so that the students could gift their portraits to someone special. The students were so excited to bring home their wrapped portraits and share them with family members and friends.
Thank you so much for helping to make this special project possible.”

Funded May 3, 2022Thank you for your wonderful donation to my classroom. With your help, we were able to expand our classroom library and be able to provide each student with a copy of the text when reading.
My students have enjoyed the books as much as I have. They love the illustrations in the graphic novels. The students can really connect to and understand the text by using the illustrations to support their comprehension. The students were so excited to get their hands on the new books and they have really developed a new love of reading thanks to your donations.”

Funded Dec 11, 2021Thanks to you and your generous donations, Nearpod has helped me to provide my students with an engaging learning platform. I have been able to use premade standards-based presentations, but also create my own presentations with interactive activities, games, and assessments. I use Nearpod in both the live and student-paced formats. It provides great downloadable data and evidence to show student progress towards learning objectives. The students are motivated and enjoy playing competitive games on Nearpod that asses their comprehension and topic knowledge.
Thank you for your generous donations and helping us to motivate and engage our students with this learning platform.”

Back to School Binders
Funded May 26, 2021I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donation to my students' education. Your donations provided our students with zippered binders to house all of their materials and carry to and from school like a backpack. It is a huge success! The binders have been utilized daily by our students. Materials are organized and there are very few issues with Chromebooks falling and breaking.
As a newcomer program for middle and high school who are new to the country, we are trying to provide our students with all the materials they need to help them be successful. The students and their families are learning to live in a new country and find a way to support their everyday lives, so providing an organizational tool like these binders is very important.
Thank you for helping these students to start a new school year organized and poised for success.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Until just a week ago, my students had been learning remotely since last March. It was challenging to keep motivation and engagement, but thanks to you and your generous donations, Nearpod has helped me to provide them with an engaging learning platform.
Nearpod has allowed me to use premade standards-based presentations, but also gave me the ability to upload my own material and create slide deck presentations with interactive activities, games, and assessments. Teaching remotely, it is difficult to know if the student is on the same page or if they are just scolling through an activity. With Nearpod I could control the pace of the activities and give more or less time when needed. One of the biggest benefits was that by providing my students with one link, they were able to open Nearpod and not have to navigate through different windows and platforms. All of their materials and activities were in one spot which made it easier for them to access learning. Now that we are in a hybrid model, I will still continue to use Nearpod in both the live and student-paced formats. It provides great downloadable data and evidence to show student progress towards learning objectives.
Thank you for your generous donations and helping us to motivate and engage our students with this learning platform.”
