  • The Fun of Making Goals

    Funded Apr 7, 2025

I am so thankful that this project was able to be funded. I know that my students will be ecstatic for the new prizes and the treats that they can earn by making goals and doing their best in class. It is so wonderful to have donors like you help to make these fun and exciting things happen in for my students!”

  • Let's Read!

    Funded Oct 3, 2024

Reading is one of the most important things that students will learn in school. It is a lasting skill that will drive them through school, and most of all life. Bringing so many different types of books in my class has sparked and excitement about reading. They all want to read the picture books and want a turn in our classroom library!

I have been so excited about have books that are in different languages. It makes every student feel important when they can walk to our library and see books that remind them of home. My student who speaks Arabic LOVES the books that she can read and understand in her home language. It was such a small thing to put a little variety in my library and it has made a huge difference!”

  • A "Sweet" Time to Sharpen Up

    Funded Sep 16, 2024

This project was met with great enthusiasm! My kids saw those scented pencils and went crazy! They all had a goal for which color they wanted and were willing to work hard to earn one.

It is a total flex for each one of the kids to earn enough tickets to buy a prize. I am glad that his year I am able to provide tools that they can use in class as a prize. I believe that because they are using these tools daily, other kids keep the prize in mind and know what they want to earn!

The little treats that they can also purchase is something that they love to get. A little succor can go a long way for behavior in our class! We appreciate your kindness in helping this happen!”

  • Arrr, Chart the Course with Whiteboards and Markers!

    Funded Sep 18, 2024

I want to say THANK YOU!!! What a difference having whiteboards has already been in our classroom. I started using them in the morning while we are working on our Word Knowledge Routine. This time of day is not what my focus for the whiteboards was going to be but it has made an incredible change!! My students have been more actively engaged and they have been working at the carpet or where the group is doing their work. I am so thankful that we have been able to change such a small time of day that I was not even accounting for! Thank you!”

  • Holding Our Memories Tight

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

This year has already come on so fast! I am so glad that we have been taking pictures and printing them! Some kiddos that have gone to our school since kindergarten are moving and I was able to capture some photos of them with their classmates. I was able to print the pictures, hang them, and give the extra to the kid that was moving schools.

It has truly made a difference having our pictures around. We are able to have a community where we all have the ability to feel part of it. Thank you for making this happen. We are all so glad that we can have the pictures to share.”

  • Sad Walls Seek Missing Bulletin Boards

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

I want to say thank you so much for the amazing bulletin boards that you helped bring to my classroom. They were just hung last week and I am already hanging things on them! It is so nice to have a place to hang all my students work and the anchor charts for our lessons.

My students told me that they love to see their work hanging on the bulletin boards. I have to agree because it helps to make our classroom a place that feels more like home. It is special to have our work shown for others to see. Thank you so much!!”

  • Let's Read!

    Funded May 7, 2024

I am so grateful for these books. We have had many new kids come to school that speak Spanish and other languages and I am so excited to share these books with them.

One book that I have already read to my students is "The Name Jar". This book is all about how your name is special because it is your name that was given to you. I was so excited to read this because many of the kids have names that I might struggle with. I try so hard to say them correctly but I have to practice. This book, like so many others show the kiddos that they are important just the way they are. I am so excited to have the books that share their languages and parts of their cultures. I am so glad that because of you, I am able to share these wonderful books with these amazing kiddos.”

  • The Great Move

    Funded May 7, 2024

Already this project has done so much for my classroom. I have gone in a few times this summer to get things unboxed and hung up. I cannot wait for these cute little second graders to come in and see what our classroom has in store for them.

The room already looks so cheery and ready for us to make some learning happen. I have set up our scissor holder next to the beautiful bulletin boards. I know these are only things that we look at, but I know the kids feel something when they come into a happy beautiful classroom. Thank you for making this happen for me and setting the classroom culture right away for the kiddos.”

  • No More Rainy Day Misery

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Indoor recess never looked so fun. The kids looked forward to the days that they got to spend inside the classroom. They had so many new options and they were more than just excited to experience them. The games that we once had made it to the trash can and the new ones were a hit.

I am so thankful to be able to give them something more than just another day on a device. I know that technology is the future for these kids but I am a strong believer in play. They need to be able to play to be able to learn to socialize and understand each other. I am so glad and grateful that you helped give us this amazing opportunity! Thank you!!”

  • Snack Attack

    Funded Apr 25, 2023

Do you hear that? Neither do I. The sounds of hungry bellies are nonexistent in this class. The kids are able to have a snack when they need and we are sure grateful.

If you have ever worked with kids, or let's be real, humans. You know that we need to be fed or we go into a dangerous territory of hanger or not be able to focus. Because people like you, my kiddos do not have to have this feeling. We are able to focus and have our basic needs met.

Thank you so much for your kindness and helping this happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Goodsell

You ask, "How will headphones help your class?". Let me tell you. In our class we have thirty students and our students do many different programs on Kindles or Chromebook computers that help with reading, math, writing and science. With so many students in our class even slight sounds on thirty computers turns into a distracting rumble where the students feel that it is ok to get off task. Having headphones will set a focus in the classroom. While working on any program, every student will be able to hear only what they need to hear. The distraction of others will disappear. Students will be able to work on what they need to work on and feel successful with clear instructions from the programs.
