Reading Together
Funded Oct 30, 2019Thank you so much for helping my students get the books they wanted to read. My class has found a love for many of the series we received. My girls love the Smile and Sisters graphic novels. Ghosts and Drama have really peaked the interests of many of my readers. Black Lagoon books have been a favorite of my students from the very beginning. They were so excited to be able to have more in the classroom available to read. Baby-Sitters Club Graphic novels have also been a hot- ticket item with my girls. Thank you so much for helping my students love reading even more than before!”

Funded Mar 2, 2020In 3rd grade, Reading is heavily tested. Students need to pass a reading test to be able to go onto 4th grade at the end of the year. Each year the challenge arises to motivate students to read. I have noticed that many of my students this year LOVE graphic novels. I jumped on the chance to get some graphic novels they foudn interesting. I want my students to realize that reading isn't just for a test, but that they can find a love of learning by reading any sort of book they find speaks to them.
My students were so excited to open the boxes we recieved yesterday. I had one student open each box. As soon as the students said, "WOW!" all my students ran to the table. I Was continuously hearing, "I want to read that one." and "I really like the pictures in this book!" They are looking forward to reading our new graphic novels and growing as readers.
Thank you for the kindness you have shown to my students by donating to our classroom. You have made a difference in their learning and their love of reading.”

Funded Feb 28, 2019Thank you so much for helping our class get a classroom printer, camera and film. The classroom printer has been fabulous for printing out student work. Students are able to email me their work, and I can quickly plug in the cord and hand it right to them.
Our new classroom camera has been awesome! The students love taking pictures of eachother. One of our students is really big into photography and is so excited when she gets to take photos of her classmates. I know these are memories they will cherish forever.
Thank you for helping my students enjoy working in the classroom! I know they are extremely grateful!”

Funded Oct 8, 2019As a teacher, I am so thankful to have class sets of these texts for my students. Our school district has adopted a new reading curriculum, but we did not have a book for each student. It was extremely hard to teach the curriculum with limited texts. You have helped turned that all around! Each student now has their own book. When I ask a question, students can refer back to the text and find their answers. We are able to learn sequencing, main idea and context clues all through the these amazing text.
Thank you for making a HUGE difference in our reading block, and in my students learning. I am incredibly thankful for everything you have done!”

The Teacher Will Become the Student at Happy Go Teach!
Funded May 11, 2018Thank you for donating to my project! Unfortunately the professional development I was hoping to do on was cancelled. With the funds you had donated, I chose to purchase hands-on activities for our entrepreneur club.
We have decided as a club to begin making metal stamping jewelry. Students will be able to etch, engrave and stamp dog tags, and other styles of metal plates with the design of their choice. Students will be able to decorate bracelets and necklaces with their designs. Students also chose to purchase vinyl to make t-shirts for our Science Olympiad team and Safety Patrol.
Thank you for all you have done for my students.
Keep an eye out for pictures!”

Funded Oct 30, 2019My students were thrilled to see piles of chapter books when they arrived in school. As we leveled each book, students got to preview each chapter book series. Students were shouting out how they wanted to read this book, and that book. They were asking how many of a particular series we had. After having the books for 2 days, some students had already finished reading their chapter book!
When I explained to the students they got to pick books to take home and read with their families, they could not contain their excitement. My students were hootin' and hollering. Some had a hard time picking which books they wanted to take home first.
Thank you for getting my students excited about reading chapter books. I can't wait to hear all the fun times they are sharing with the families reading!”

Funded Oct 21, 2019Thank you for you donations and helping us get the furniture we needed to help shelve our new books and supplies. Having the new bookshelf has made it much easier to see our new class sets of various Wit & Wisdom books.
Our new board has been so helpful in reading and math small group. All the students are able to see the problems and questions when we are working together. It is so much easier to have extra board space travel around with me in the classroom.
Our brand new set of drawers has made our classroom look so much neater, instead of overflowing multiple sets of plastic drawers. All of my students supplies are tucked away nicely in the drawers. The students were so excited to organize their supplies!
Thank you for helping make a different in our classroom!”

Funded Mar 6, 2019I cannot begin to tell you about the excitement and joy that my students felt when I opened the brand new boxes filled with snacks and food and unveiled them in our classroom. When students are hungry before or after school, the snacks that you have provided ensure that my students will continue to keep their energy up so that they can continue to learn. Your generous gift is something that is enjoyed by my students every single day and it has such a great impact on their learning and future.
I believe so strongly in instilling a love of learning at an early age and fostering that love and growth could never be possible without the support of donors like you. Since they received news that the proposal was funded, my students are constantly asking me about you and truly think of you as their friend. On behalf of my 20 healthy eaters, thank you!!!!!""”
