  • Funnel Ball for All

    Funded Sep 2, 2016

Thank you so much for helping our school receive a new funnel ball set! Our students were so excited to see it had arrived. We are currently waiting for the grounds crew from the county to properly set it up outside. When our funnel ball set was taken away last year, the children were upset. Even though it was broken, many of our students played with it. You have helped give this gift back to our students. It will keep them up and moving during recess time. Students will learn to work together to play and learn strategies to succeed. I know our students cannot wait to play!!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Williams

  • Stand-Up Desks Improve Learning for Active Students

    Funded Sep 9, 2016

Thank you so much for helping our classroom get a standing desk! My students and I were so excited when it arrived. We found it is a little too tall for my third graders this year, but my students helped me in creating a solution! They suggested we place our classroom Elmo on the desk and my students can present their work while standing on a stool in front of the class! Our classroom participation and my students work ethic has only gotten stronger because of this! They all want to be called on to come up and share how they were able to solve their problem or where they found the answer. Thank you for helping to bring enthusiasm and eagerness to my students.”

  • We Wanna Be Like Mike!

    Funded Sep 23, 2016

    Target,

Thank you so much for your kind donation and helping to make a difference in the lives of our students at our school. We were able to help our PE teacher accumulate and replace equipment. We were also able to get recess equipment to share with other grade levels when they are able to go out to recess. Our students love the basketballs! To see them playing together and teaching each other how to play and shoot is something I have enjoyed. Due to recent weather conditions, we have been unable to play corn hole, but our students cannot wait to play! Thank you so much for all your have done for the students in my classroom and our school. Speaking on behalf of all the teachers and students you were able to help at our school through funded projects, you have made an amazing impact on their lives.”

  • Giant Size Activities Mean a Giant Size Workout!

    Funded Aug 26, 2016

Thank you so much for helping my students get some amazing activities for indoor and outdoor recess! They are so excited and love every single activity you have given them. My student are extra focused sitting on the stability wobble cushions and it keeps them moving all day long! The giant bowling and Jenga are a huge success! My students love to use their whole body to move the pieces all around. My students play bocce ball everyday outside; it is one of their favorites! My students also enjoy playing 4-to-score and cannot wait to show it to their parents the next time they come in. Thank you for having a positive impact on my students and helping them live active, healthy lives.”

  • Starting Off on the Right Foot: 3rd Grade Supplies

    Funded Aug 1, 2016

Thank you all so much for helping my students get all the supplies they need for the first days of school. My students and there parents were very grateful to receive the news the supply list had gotten much shorter. Because of your kindness, all of my students were ready to go on day one! They did not have to worry about not having enough supplies. Some parents even went and bought extra items to give to our classroom and our resource teachers throughout the building. You have started a ripple effect of kindness and giving through our third grade parents and teachers. Thank you for being an inspiration to our third grade classroom.”

  • Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Third Graders Love Scholastic!

    Funded Aug 3, 2016

My students are so excited to have Scholastic Magazine as a resource in our classroom this year. When I told our 3rd grade students we were able to get it from DonorsChoose a student exclaimed, "We LOVE DonorsChoose and the donors!" Today we learned all about the election and the three branches of government. My students were thrilled to learn that we would also be getting the science and geography add-ons to Scholastic.

You have helped my students learn about current events and different struggles that are happening around the world. You have broadened their thinking and have aided them in understanding there are bigger things in the world besides their immediate surroundings. Thank you for giving my students this reliable resource.”

  • Everyone Do the Wobble! Part 2

    Funded Jun 19, 2016

I cannot thank you enough for helping fund our Wiggle and Wobble to Learn project! My students absolutely love the Wobble Chairs. To make sure everyone gets a turn, they are set up at our Reading Counts station in our classroom. Setting the chairs up at that station has really encouraged the students to read and take Reading Counts tests! Being able to watch the students on the wobble chairs at the RC station, has allowed me to see which students would really benefit from having a wobble chair.

When I got the call over my Walkie-Talkie, that I had boxes addressed to me at the front office, the students could hardly contain themselves! I opened and quickly assembled the chairs, which took no time at all! I set them at our RC station and suddenly all the students wanted to take an RC test! I wonder why!?

Know that you have made a difference in my students education. You have offered a solution for all students who would benefit from more movement during the day. My students and I are forever grateful for your generosity!”

  • Empowering Students Through Art: Computer Programming and Becoming Authors

    Funded Jun 17, 2016

This year, our school is going to grow a garden! Our students are so excited to be able to take part in this large project and feel as though they are making a difference at our school. In third grade we learn about plants and types of soil. My students are beginning to research the types of vegetables and plants that would be appropriate to grow in our area. The students are really looking forward to having such an important responsibility in creating our school garden. Some students have already started to research and begin writing some thoughts down to be able to type on their blog. Soon I will introduce my students to the world of coding. I know they are going to have a blast! Being able to code will be a beneficial skill to my students as they get older and begin to realize certain interests they have. Who knows? maybe I have a future video game creator in my room! Thank you for helping to make this possible.”

  • A Chain Reaction of Success with Lakeshore STEM Bundles!

    Funded Jul 25, 2016

Thank you so much for helping to give my students the amazing opportunity to experience STEM learning. When they saw the boxes they weren't sure what to make of them. They began looking at the pictures and finally realized they were going to have to build structures and solve problems with the items in the kits. Needless to say they were jumping with excitement!

These STEM kits will aid my students in their understanding of cause and effect, as well as touch on many science concepts, such as force and motion. They cannot wait until we get to open them up and build when we get to those science concepts. You have brought a spark to my classroom that will last the whole year long!”
