• Listening for Little Learners

  Thank you so much for supporting this project and my students! They are so excited when new books on cd arrive in our classroom. The listening center has quickly become one of their favorite rotations during center time thanks to these wonderful new books. My students love to learn new things and these non-fiction books are perfect for that!

  The students absolutely adore being able to choose their own book and then having it read to them. They are able to practice their concepts of print such as one-to-one word correspondence, left to right reading, and return sweep as well as improve their fluency as they read along.

• We've Got the Write Stuff!

  Thank you so much for supporting this project and my students! They are so excited when new supplies arrive in our classroom. We've been using our white boards almost daily during various parts of the day as a hands on way to show our learning. The students enjoy having ownership over their materials and being able to participate 100% in our lessons.

  We have used our boards to show what we know during our addition and subtraction units, drawing pictures to solve and write equations. They have also been used during phonics and writing time as we practice sounding out words that we don't know.

• Crazy for Centers

  Thank you so much for funding this project! I know that with the right tools in their hands, my little readers will grow and blossom. I can't wait to get these center materials implemented into our center time. It's quickly becoming my students favorite time of day thanks to donors choose! Beginning reading skills are the foundation for a lifetime of literary success, so it's important we support these skills early on. We have been so blessed by donors choose!”

• Connection Central

  Our class iPad minis have created quite a stir in not just our classroom, but our whole grade level! There are almost 100 students in our Kindergarten, and my students are all the buzz! They can take full credit for all the stir, but who can blame them when they have iPad minis to brag about?! And they tell everyone!!!

  My students are so excited each day. They are excited to see which new books or apps I downloaded to the iPad. They are excited to earn tickets so they can use the iPad. They are excited when their classmates discover something new on a program or an app and share the ideas with them! This has created a new sense of comradery. Students have been able to use the iPad for individualized test practice as well, which aligns with our standards and incorporates a fun technology aspect to learning.

  Thanks to our brand new charging station the students are able to be independent in a whole new way. They are now responsible for plugging the ipad minis back in when they are done, and they take this responsibility seriously! Making sure their ipad minis are all charged up for next time is top priority in our classroom.

• Idream of Ipads

The kids love making words with the alphabet stampers during literacy centers. They have been working on writing fiction and non-fiction pieces in their writing notebook at the writing center. We keep very busy during the day, but Literacy time has quickly become the students favorite time of day!
