All of the students in my journalism class are girls. I want to motivate these girls to become interested in the STEM programs so they can make better choices as they move to high school. These girls are from various backgrounds and socioeconomic situations. Two-thirds of the class will be dependent on scholarships to complete their college education. My principal is extremely supportive in the use of technology, especially in the STEM subjects and cross-curricular programs. I would like to begin this program with these girls because they are self-motivated and creative, out of the box thinkers. They are not only passionate about education, but they care deeply about other people and their pursuit of a STEM career could change their world and the world around them.
