My classroom has linoleum flooring. This means that the floor is cold and hard. I have decided to try for my first DonorsChoose project to create comfortable areas in the classrooms where my students can work collaboratively and comfortably. In my first grade classroom, students need areas to come together for calendar, story, partner work, read-to-self, morning meeting and closing circle. The carpet sitting spots primary rug will accommodate the entire class. The smaller rug will be placed in the reading area to be used during partner reading and read-to-self times.
