Classroom Engagement
Funded Mar 15, 2016Thank you so much for your generosity to our classroom! The students were so excited to see the new dry erase boards. These boards were a huge improvement for them. They were using small boards for math and paper in page protectors for cursive. Now one board gives them all they need.
Cursive writing is a skill many kids never learn. We teach this skill and it requires lots of practice to master. The new boards give students the chance to practice all they need based on their individual need. This is hard to do with paper practice due to limited copies.
Thank you for being so caring and generous. Students need every chance to be successful in their life and you have given them a huge opportunity. These boards will not only help the 21 students this year but many more in the years to come.”

Mrs. Richard

Wowing Readers!
Funded Feb 3, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donation. Your generosity will have a huge impact on 21 children and many more in the coming years. People like you help children become lifelong readers!
Your donation purchased new books for my classroom. Students will have the opportunity to read a book on their reading level. This will prevent them from becoming frustrated and hating to read. Independent reading is a huge factor to becoming a better reader. The more children read the more improvement we see in their reading skills. We spend at least 45 minutes a day reading and taking Accelerated Reading test to improve fluency and comprehension. You have given my students more choices to find books that interest them.
Many of my students do not have the luxury of books at home so the classroom is the only place they get to read what they choose. It only takes one book to instill that love of reading. Thanks to you my students now have a better opportunity to find that one book.”

Mrs. Richard
Time It!
Funded Oct 5, 2011I just want to thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. My students are having lots of fun while improving their reading and math fluency. They have timed each other and discussed how they can improve their reading skills. This has been amazing to witness!
They listen carefully while their partner reads aloud for one minute and then gives constructive criticism. They are so careful to point out the readers strong points and make suggestions to improve their reading. This is also making the listener more conscious when they are the reader!
They are timing themselves with math facts too! They love to time themselves and watch the improvement they make with each practice. This is making learning more of a game!
Thank you again! It means a lot to be able to purchase simple things such as timers. With all of the budget cuts in education, you are the only reason this was possible! Thanks again for your donation.”

Mrs. Richard
Imagination - Take Me Away!!
Funded Apr 14, 2011Thank you so much for your donation. My students are so excited about having new books for our classroom. It is hard to find funds to purchase new literature with all the budget cuts in our state. My students love to read but many of them do not have books at home to read.
The literature that we received through your generous help will allow my students to experience many genres of literature. We will be able to practice comprehension strategies to improve a student's understanding of what they read. I feel that if a student can be successful in reading then they will be successful in life! Thank you again for your generosity!”

Mrs. Richard

The Little House books will allow my students to experience wonderful historical fiction. The series will also give them an insight to the way of life during pioneer times. It will allow us to compare and contrast life now with pioneer life. Again, thank you so much for giving to our project!”
