Math Manipulatives to Build Understanding

We have loved using our math manipulatives to build fluency and understanding. Thank you so much for donating so we could use these helpful tools to support our understanding.

We started using the pattern tiles for our fraction unit and it's been awesome to see their understanding of denominators grow! After using these tiles a student was able to see why when she adds fractions the denominator doesn't change.

Other students were given an extension task where the value of the whole number changed so the value of the other pattern blocks changes and it allowed them to have a great discussion!
