  • Beginning The Year Off Right

    Funded Jul 24, 2014

Thank you so very much for your generous donations. Due to your love and dedication for children this project has made a difference in the lives of my students and their families. My students are truly blessed to have people like you in their corner.

The supplies you donated helped us to have our school's first Loved One's Day Program. This day allowed our 5th graders to say thank you to someone whom they love for all of their guidance and support. The canvases that were donated were used to create an art piece, a heart made with buttons as a token of love and appreciation for their loved one. The speakers were used as my students sang songs and additionally to provide background music throughout the program. After the program so many parents were overcome with emotions of gratitude and love. My students were pleased to have done something so loving for someone who consistently goes over and beyond for them.

Thank you donors and Donors Choose for providing such a warm and loving experience for me, my students and their families. Thank you for all that you do to support teachers, their students and their families.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cade

  • Diversity Is Key!

    Funded Apr 22, 2014

Thank you all for supporting our Diversity Is Key project. My students were so excited when they saw that wonderful brown box enter our room. My students were very thankful to have both text and audio books that addressed their various learning styles.

These resources have and will continue to allow me to teach my students the importance of diversity. By using both the text and audio versions of the books, my current and future students have and will continue to develop a deeper appreciation of the differences that each of us bring to those around us. It is in our differences that we are able to see what makes us unique and it is our uniqueness that attracts each of us to one another.

As my students prepare to enter middle school, it was my desire and goal to help them understand their true self. In understanding their true self, they would be able to see the "trueness" in others. Thus allowing my students understand that Diversity Is Key! This project was used to teach a life lesson of diversity and acceptance. We must accept the differences of others if we want our differences to be accepted. These resources were used to open discussions and to develop a deeper understanding of diversity and acceptance. Thank you donors and DonorsChoose for your helping me reach this goal.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Cade

We are a small neighborhood school in a big district that relies on our community support to get things done. I am truly lucky in that I have supportive and concerned parents. My students are eager and energetic learners. Our class is far from your quiet teacher-led classroom. Our classroom thrives on communication and questions both on and off topic tends to be our guide. One of the goals of our classroom room is to hear and value each others different perspectives.
