  • Marvelous Math Fact Fluency Materials Needed

    Funded Nov 15, 2023

I am thrilled to share how your generous contributions have significantly enhanced our classroom experience. The new materials, including pocket folders, Ziploc bags, laminating pouches, copy paper, pencils, markers, and fluency books, have been met with great enthusiasm. We recently launched a "Fluency Library" project to improve reading skills. Each student received a pocket folder to organize their fluency passages and activity cards, laminated for durability. Ziploc bags allow students to take their fluency books home, encouraging extra practice. The copy paper, pencils, and markers were essential for printing and annotating passages, making the reading practice interactive and fun.

When the students first saw the new materials, their excitement was palpable. They eagerly personalized their pocket folders and enjoyed the colorful, engaging activities. We are now focusing on peer-to-peer reading sessions to enhance reading skills and build confidence. Moving forward, we plan to introduce a "Fluency Challenge," where students set personal reading goals and track their progress. Your support has truly transformed our reading program, and we are excited to share more updates as we progress. Thank you for your continued investment in our students' education.”

  • Stupendous Students Need Super Supplies!

    Funded Apr 6, 2023

The new resources, generously provided by our donors, have significantly enriched our classroom experience. The inclusive supplies, consisting of paper, pencils, dry erase boards, and markers, have been integrated into various aspects of our daily lessons. One specific project that showcased the versatility of these materials involved a collaborative writing assignment. Students utilized the provided paper and pencils to brainstorm ideas individually, and then, on their dry erase boards, they crafted and revised their narratives collectively. This not only enhanced their writing skills but also fostered teamwork and creative expression.

When the students first saw the materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and gratitude. The prospect of having their own supplies, including a dedicated writing utensil and personal dry erase board, created a sense of ownership and empowerment among the students. The donors' support not only fulfilled practical needs but also conveyed a message of care and investment in their education. Moving forward, the next steps for our students in the current classroom lesson involve using the provided resources for ongoing assessments in both math and literacy. The dry erase boards will be particularly instrumental in facilitating interactive and dynamic assessments, allowing for real-time feedback and collaborative problem-solving. This personalized approach to learning is made possible by the thoughtful contributions of our donors, and we are eager to continue leveraging these resources to enhance the educational journey of our students”

  • Classroom In Need Of A Printer, Organizational, and Cleaning Supplies!

    Funded Apr 28, 2023

Our new resources, particularly the classroom printer, have become integral to our daily lessons. We use the printer consistently to generate additional worksheets and educational materials, tailoring our curriculum to meet the individual needs of each student. This has enhanced our flexibility in adapting to various learning styles and paces. A specific moment that highlights the impact of this resource was during a collaborative research project where students were able to access additional readings and articles instantly, fostering a dynamic and research-driven learning environment.

When the students first saw the materials, including the printer, their reactions were a mix of curiosity and appreciation. The accessibility of extra learning materials and the ability to customize their educational experience resonated positively with them. Additionally, our emphasis on cleanliness and hygiene, demonstrated through the regular use of wipes and Lysol, has contributed to a safe and healthy learning environment. Students have actively participated in maintaining a clean and organized classroom, fostering a sense of responsibility and pride in their shared space.

As our donors have had a peek into our classroom through their valuable contributions, we're excited to share the next steps in our current project. We are incorporating technology into our lessons to teach students responsible usage, emphasizing not only its educational benefits but also the importance of cleanliness and hygiene when handling devices. This approach aligns with our commitment to not only foster academic growth but also instill life skills that contribute to the overall well-being of our students. Our goal is to create a learning environment that not only equips students with knowledge but also nurtures habits that will serve them well in their academic and personal lives.”

The students were genuinely thrilled and appreciative of these materials, creating an atmosphere of creativity and joy. The vibrant colors and imaginative projects not only served as a fun and engaging outlet for self-expression but also allowed the students to showcase their artistic talents. The classroom project centered around creating a collaborative summer mural, where each student contributed their unique piece. Funded Oct 2, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to my class. By donating, you've provided students with the opportunity to access our curriculum despite the barriers that exist. On a daily basis, our students use the pencils to write in all subjects. We use our crayons, and color pencils to complete our literacy worksheets during our language block.

My students were beyond excited when these supplies arrived. They have allowed us to create projects, complete independent and group work, and homework. My students were able to meet their true potential this year.”

  • Captivating Classroom Library

    Funded Nov 17, 2019

By providing my class with books we've had the privilege of expanding our small classroom library. We are a differentiated reading school, so our students are taught reading based on their individualized reading abilities. We received level books which allow them to read appropriate books during independent reading time. They have expanded their vocabulary, and their love of reading as a result of us acquiring these books. We've also created a classroom reading nook where they can further enjoy their books.”

    Mrs. Boyd

This is my first year teaching and their first year as third graders, and I want to change the way they think, and feel about math. With the generosity, and help from donors, I know my students will be much more excited about math. These materials will certainly allow me to make their "math" dreams come true! The materials we need, will provide RICH math experiences, and ultimately change the way they perceive, and do math! For our measurement unit, we need a scale as well as weights for the students to experience math outside of the traditional pencil, and paper teacher. Another thing that will be truly beneficial, not just with math, but for each subject, are the personal "write and response pockets". These response pockets, work as little white boards, and are PERFECT for quick, and fun assessments! The last and final unit of the school year is geometry, and one of the necessary items for success with geometry are tangrams, and pattern blocks. It is one thing to show a student a shape on the board, and say this an octagon; however, when a student has the physical item, their "wheels do not stop turning!"
