Presents, Disney's 101 Dalmatians KIDS!
Funded Feb 24, 2025Thank you so much for your donations!! Our performers are always talking about how excited they are to see their costumes and props, and ask us to describe them all of the time! Your generosity will not only help us tell the story of Disney’s “101 Dalmatians KIDS”, but will instantly brighten the day for our 32 4th & 5th graders once they hear their costumes are in and they get to try them on!! Thank you for your support and for being a rockstar! 💖🎶🩰🎭🐾”

Finding Nemo Kids 3
Funded May 10, 2024Thank you for your donation to our Donors Choose page helping bring our performance of "Finding Nemo KIDS." to life! With your support, our cast took their characters to the next level on our stage. One of our sharks mentioned she loved her costume so much because it "showed who I was on the inside. A shark can be aggressive but also sweet and kind." "Tad's parent" said her costume looked "a little funny to make people let out a fun laugh."
The 4th and 5th graders grew not only as performing artists, but responsible individuals. Before and after each run through, each student ensured their costume was neatly placed in their personal costume baggies. They were so proud and grateful for their individualized costumes and props. The cast performed their hearts out, but it truly came together once their costumes and props were added, to look like a Broadway version of "Finding Nemo". Your generosity means so much to our performing arts department and our school community.
As our "Sheldon" said, "We really could not have done it without you!"”

P.S. 253 Presents the Little Mermaid Jr.
Funded Mar 9, 2020After the world shut down in 2020, our 4th and 5th graders have never had the opportunity to perform the production they have worked so hard on for months. Due to restrictions with tracing, spacing, masks etc., our first Spring musical since Covid was this year, May 2023. We dusted off our Little Mermaid Jr. bins with all of the incredible materials you have funded and were more excited than ever to put on a Disney Musicals in Schools production! As we shared costumes, props, scenery and so much more with our performers, they were THRILLED to say the least. Thank you so much for your generosity. This was a much anticipated production!”

With your support, our cast took their characters to the next level on our stage. One of our 4th graders who played a tentacle, a chef, and a sea creature said, "I was able to put on the costumes and really feel like I was in The Little Mermaid! Thank you for giving me that confidence." Another 4th grader who loved her costumes wrote, "It made me feel like I was really part of Ariel's world."

The Jungle Book Kids
Funded Jan 11, 2019Thank you for your donation to our donors choose page to bring our performance of Disney's The Jungle Book Kids to life! With your support, our characters came to life on stage. Our monkeys had the perfect ears and gloves. One 4th grade monkey stated, "The costume helped me be more confident about what I am doing and helped me understand a little more about my character." Our jungle banyan, lotus, and thistle brightened up the stage with their beautiful leaves and colors, and our Shere Khan, who is the sweetest 5th grader, transformed into a scary threatening tiger thanks to the face makeup we were able to purchase. Our vultures flew around the stage with the perfect feathers, while being stylish in their top hats and blazers, with the adorable bumble bees at their sides in their yellow and black tutus and wings. Mowgli shared that his costume "helped me look the part!" One of our elephants shared that on the inside he felt as if it was his birthday when he received the costume and it made him feel "fierce" like he was "in the jungle." One coil from our snake, Kaa, said the costumes gave a really nice vibe to the show. The 4th and 5th graders grew not only as performers, but responsible individuals. Before and after each run through, each student ensured their costume was neatly placed in their personal costume baggies. They were so proud and grateful for their individualized costumes and props. The cast performed their hearts out, but it truly came to life once their costumes and makeup were added, to look like a Broadway version of The Jungle Book. Your generosity means so much to our performing arts department and our school community. As one 5th-grader said prior to the performance, "The show will be the best because of you!"
I would like to leave you with a poem from one of our performers:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
Sugar is sweet
But you are TOO!”
