Classroom Library Utilization
Funded Jul 27, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity. The students were so thrilled to know that there were people out there who were eagerly invested in their education.
The first thing the students notice when they walk in the classroom is the reading corner. This library is filled with over 500 books that I have collected over a short period of time to give my students a variety of reading opportunities. Last year, there wasn't enough space to have all of the books properly displayed. With the extra bookshelf that was funded, the students can now easily browse the hundreds of books at their fingertips.
The students were also very excited to find out how easy it was to check out books they found in the classroom library. With the iPad, all they have to do is sign in to BookSource and scan the book they have chosen to borrow. When they are ready to return it, they just scan it back in and return it to the shelf. With the process being so easy, the students aren't as daunted to check out a book. This means that there will be more students reading this year than in years past, so thank you for that!
The iPad is also being used for the students who could not afford the laptop rental fee this year. It serves as another digital device that allows my students to do their work online. Most of my work is online, since our world is moving in a very digital direction. This iPad gives more students the opportunity to work online despite personal funds.”
With gratitude,
