Share a Blast From the Past!
Funded Jan 23, 2023With great appreciation, I thank you for bringing this "blast from the past" to my classroom. It has brought the joy of music "the old fashioned way" into the hearts of my 5 year olds! My kindergarten students had never seen a record player before, nor records! This introduction to technology from our past was a big hit!
This all-in-one system with its nostalgic design also gives my students the opportunity to experience music through CDs and the radio as well! It fits perfectly into our technology unit of study as the students learn about how technology has grown and changed over the years.
It also helps answer so many questions, especially for my students who don't have access to music in their own homes.
Thank you all so much for making this learning opportunity possible for my students this year and for years to come!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Perros Barrett

Funded Jan 5, 2023As we all can attest, life these days is full of challenges, hardships, and even trauma. We know this happens in our adult lives but sadly it's also a part of the lives of our young children who come to school with significant social and emotional needs. We need to provide safe, calm, and nurturing spaces where they can take breaks to de-escalate from big feelings. Your generous support enabled the creation of a "Calm Corner" in my kindergarten classroom and is significantly impacting the social-emotional well being of my 5 year olds. Thank you tremendously for making this possible. Without your support, I wouldn't have been able to carry out my vision.”

Let Our Fingers Do The Work
Funded Mar 17, 2017I would like to thank you once again for your generous donations that put much needed fine motor development tools into the hands of my young kindergarten students. We now have a "writing station" in our classroom that holds crayons, colored pencils, markers, pencils and specialized writing paper that will benefit all of my students but especially those who are struggling with formation, grip, and pressure. Your contributions to this project enabled my students with fine motor needs to have access to tools, such as the smaller pencils and grip helpers, that will help them. All of my young "writers and illustrators" were thrilled when our new materials arrived. We set up the writing station together and immediately put the tools to good use. At that time, my 2016-2017 class was writing an end of year class book that we sent off to a publishing company. Your gift made them feel empowered and excited to do their best job on our class book. You'll be happy to know that the publishing company contacted me to ask if our book could be placed in their nation-wide contest for exemplary content and appeal! (We are waiting to hear the results!) Currently, my new kindergarten class of 13 days has been introduced to the writing station. It's back to the drawing board, as they say. But it our classroom, it's the writing station! Because of your support, fine motor writing skills are soon to bloom and will continue to do so for years to come! Thanks again for making such an impact in our classroom.”

Shades Of Color
Funded Jun 8, 2012I would like to thank you once again for your generous donations that put much needed art tools into the hands of my young kindergarten students. We now have multicultural "skin color" crayons, colored pencils and paint to use in our daily art work. Your contributions to this project are enabling my students to depict in their illustrations and creative art work the physical characteristics that they observe in people. They are now able to draw realistic self portraits and they are able to creatively show the multicultural world in which we live. Because of your support, art, an appreciation for diversity, and self expression are thriving in my classroom.”

Top To Bottom! Left to Right! Letters That Are Out of Sight!
Funded Dec 9, 2011How can I thank you enough for your generous donations to my classroom? You won't believe the excitement that you have created about PENMANSHIP, SPELLING and STORY WRITING! Your amazing gift of dry erase boards, markers, caddies, magnetic letters and dry erase board mats have all inspired my little ones to WRITE, WRITE, RIGHT!!! They absolutely love to write on their individual boards and they love to practice! I don't have to remind them that "practice makes perfect". They remind me!
Your gift to our classroom has fostered not only letter formation skills but the drive to write! My little budding authors look forward to "showing what they know" on these new boards. My kindergarten students enjoy working together and role playing "teacher and student" as they help each other learn how to spell and write new words with their markers and their magnetic letters.
Your donations have impacted the confidence of my students. They pick up a marker and a board from their caddy and begin writing their creative stories with ease and pride. They are motivated and excited to write...a kindergarten teacher's dream! Thank you all for making it a reality!”

Funded Dec 13, 2011Words simply can not express how grateful I am for your generous support of our classroom. My kindergarten kids and I would like to thank you for your donations that provided my students with so many hands-on oppotunitites for mathematical exploration. My kinder kids are so excited about their new math materials. They look forward to working together and independently as they use our fantastic math manipulatives.
Your generous donations enabled our classroom to contain every mathematician's wish list of materials. My kids are having fun timing themselves with the gigantic one minute timer. We have had a blast learning about time this way. They also love to "beat the clock" in so many other curricular areas such as timed reading, timed typing on the computer and so on.
My kinder kids use the 12 different containers of the "manipulative library station" on a daily basis. There are always great big cheers when it is time to "manipulate" with two-sided counters, number dice, pattern blocks, unfix cubes, etc. We use the huge number line during whole group instruction and the kids use the individual number lines to solve addition and subtraction problems independently and in small groups.
Thank you so much for helping me engage my little math wizards with such essential math tools that help deepen their understanding of their mathematical world. There is nothing better than seeing them thirst for more math!”

Funded Jan 30, 2012With tremendous appreciation and gratitude, my kindergarten kids and I would like to thank you all for turning our classroom into an even more exciting learning environment and place of independence! Your generous support filled our shelves with an overflowing amount of "instant learning centers" that my kids use to engage themselves in literacy, math and science investigations. My students are eager to open up center box after center box to dive into phonics, weather, plants, phonemic awareness, addition, rhyming and so on.
With your help, my students are growing academically and socially as they explore these new centers with one another. They know exactly how to PLAY and LEARN with these centers. They are confident and independent workers who look forward to getting into small groups to learn together.
I can not thank you enough for your donations that made it all happen. With a heart full of thankfulness, I salute you and your support of kindergarten learning.”

Funded Jan 30, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donations to our classroom. Because of your support, our classroom now has a beautiful book organizer that we are using to house and organize all of our newly adopted Language Arts reading program materials. My kindergarten kids are so excited to have these materials at their finger tips. The book organizer has sorted all of the essential materials (decodable books, retelling cards, oral vocabulary picture cards, sound boxes and counters, and thematic books). Students look forward to "independent work time" when they are able to peruse all of the materials at their leisure. I often find them choosing reading materials to share alongside a friend. That is just priceless!
The book organizer has helped me as a teacher as well. I know exactly where to find the materials that I need for my Language Arts instruction. In fact, ANYONE who walks into my room would know where to find my reading materials! I love the fact that it is on wheels because I can move it from a whole group setting to a small group setting in an instant, if need be. But the best part about it is that the kids know exactly where to find what THEY need! The book organizer gave them a feeling of pride and ownership over the Language Arts materials as well and they absolutely love to keep everything organized and tidy. (I wonder where they get that from? :)
With great appreciation, I thank you for this gift that you gave to my class and to my future students to come! The book organizer will always remind me of your generosity, love and support.”
