Got Books?
Funded Oct 21, 2021Thank you for your generous donation of books for my classroom. The students love reading new books and have been excited to have them added to our classroom library. The students often take the books home and use the new books for their reading at home assignment each day. The students also read these books during our class silent reading time and reading workshop time. Without your generous donation, my students would not have these new books. Many of my books were starting to fall apart or not of interest to my students. With your help, the students are excited to read. Thank you for your support.”

Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you for the moveable whiteboard to use with my classroom. It allows me to teach my students in different areas of the room as well as list assignments or other things that I need to teach or address. The board has been a great help in my classroom and made it a bit easier to teach with a full classroom that has to maintain some social distance. Without your help, I would not have this whiteboard to use in my classroom. It has made a difference when I want to stand near the back of the room instead of the front of the room to demonstrate a math problem or when I am helping a student the can use it to solve the problem so I can help to guide them. This board will be used a lot for many years to come.”

Funded Jun 8, 2021Thank you for your generous donation of books to my classroom. My partner is currently using James and the Giant Peach with her classroom. Her students are reading the book as part of their class read-aloud. My students will be reading that book later in the year. My students will also be reading Year of the Boar and Jackie Robinson later this year when we doing our reading unit on Jackie Robinson. I think it is important to explore and experience different types of text on topics we are studying. In our reading program, we use a nonfiction book on Jackie Robinson. This will be a nice contrast since it is a historical fiction book. Without your help, my students would not have these books to use to enhance their reading.”

Funded Jun 8, 2021Thank you for the books for my classroom. I will be using these books for a wide variety of reasons this year. The books that are about or from Native American Tribes or areas will be used in the next few weeks to share stories and culture of different tribes from different regions of the US. Books that are written from a character's point of view will be used when I teach point of view and compare and contrast. The other books will be used to work on specific skills or to celebrate a different culture from around the world. Without your donation, I would not have these books to share with my students. Thank you again for your generousity.”

Lets Read!
Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you for your help in buying a class set of both Freckle Juice and Ramona the Pest. These books will be used as part of my class read-aloud and reading instruction. My students love to read as a whole class. With your help, we now have 2 more books we can read together as a class. These books will also be used by my partner in her classroom as well this school year. Your donation will allow my students this year and years to come a chance to read and enjoy books they may not have had a chance to read or hear otherwise. Thank you again for helping my classroom.”

Funded Mar 19, 2021Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. My students love having their own copy of Land of Stories as we do our class read along. They are able to reread parts we have read if they are absent. I am currently using the books with 32 students in my classroom. The books will then get passed to my partner to read with her 26 students. These books will be well-loved and used for many years to come. Thank you again for supporting the students in my classroom. These books would not be available to my students without your support. Thank you again.”

Funded Aug 12, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation of art supplies to my classroom. My students love to paint, draw, and color. We have used a variety of the materials you helped to provide. The pictures here are the students painting their own version of Birds on a Wire.
The students LOVE to paint. They were very excited and their final project turned out great. Without your generous donation, my students would not have the materials. With your help, we would not have the supplies we need to provide options for art instruction. Thank you again.”

Funded Mar 6, 2021Thank you for your generous donation of RUMP to my classroom. We were able to read the book with the whole grade level at the end of the school year and complete a novel study focusing on point of view and story structure and elements. The students loved the book and looked forward to reading it each day and were always disappointed when we had to stop for the day. After we read the book the students did activities and took a comprehension quiz on the book to demonstrate the understanding of what they read. Without your generous donation, my students would not have these materials. thank you again for your support.”

Funded Dec 4, 2019Thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The new projector allowed my students to see any work I projected as well as we're able to watch videos I presented as part of my instruction. My old projector was blurry and was hard to see.
With the clarity of the picture, my students were able to present their projects and assignments to share with the other student in my class. Everyone was able to see clearly and I did not hear mumbles about it being blurry. Without your donation of the projector, my students would be struggling with learning and seeing things that were projected clearly. Thank you again for your support.”

Funded Aug 29, 2020Thank you for the generous donation of a document camera. My students love being able to learn math and follow along when I read a book when I have material under the projector. Trying to teach math without being able to write out problems or break things down can be difficult. I have used a variety of different only tools and there we never as easy as just teaching while I use a document camera. When I use the document camera in my teaching I can demonstrate problems on my whiteboard and the students can then copy the problems down at home in their workbooks, notebooks, or on their own white boards as I teach a concept. Using a camera to teach makes it possible for me to teach these key topics without relying on a video to demonstrate the lesson to the students. Thank you again for this wonderful tool I use daily to teach my students.”
