  • Bring Life to Our Lab

    Funded Sep 5, 2013

The students are so thrilled to come to Science to learn new things. Having new materials for them makes all the difference. Without all of you the children would not be able to enjoy what they are learning as much as they do now.

We have live insects, fish, tadpoles and frogs in our Science lab. We have watched our insects go through complete metamorphosis. We care for all our classroom animals every day by feeding them and keeping their habitats clean.

We follow the FOSS curriculum which requires us to replenish our materials every year. Our school does not have the money to do this. Without the supplies, our lessons would be incomplete.

Thank you all for contributing and making our 2013-2014 school year fun and enjoyable.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Panagiotidis

  • Insects, Animals, Fish, and Much Much More

    Funded Dec 31, 2010

As a science teacher I feel the best way to teach the kids life science is to bring living animals into the classroom. Thanks to all your support and generosity, we now have many living things surrounding us. From the guppies to the goldfish, earthworms and red worms, milkweed bugs, and much much more.

The children come into the science lab and are just amazed to see all these things. We feel like we are part of nature. We see the changes in the animals from day to day, we feed and take care of them. Each child knows how to respect all of these creatures.

We owe you a big thank you and hope that you enjoy our pictures and letters. ”

  • Scientists In The Making

    Funded Dec 31, 2010

We all want to thank you for your generosity. The smiles you have put on all the children's faces have been priceless. We have been using all the materials along with the different science units we have been learning about. A new puzzle is added each week. Every time I bring out a new puzzle or center activity, the kids are so grateful. They all want to keep writing thank you notes.

After a hard week of learning and listening, the students come to my science lab on Friday and they know that Friday is "fun day". These activities are so much fun to play with, and yet they are still educational.

With the budget cuts, we are appreciate your help. Students will continue to use all these materials for many years to come. ”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Panagiotidis

  • Science Classroom Needs Living Creatures Other Than The Kids

    Funded Nov 19, 2008

Wow, I am excited about all these items. I never thought anyone would be so kind to fund these amazing items for my science classroom. The children are going to be so excited when they see all of these aquariums, terrariums, ants farms, and crab habitats. The children love coming to science but this will only make science more hands on and more exciting to them. We thank you so much and can't wait to receive all these items”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Panagiotidis

I am the lower grade science teacher at my school, I teach grades Pre-K through grade 2. I work on the Lower East Side in Manhattan, our science room has no live materials! Children in this school and community are stressed with all the academics and testing, science should be fun and exciting. With living things all around us we would be able to learn about their habitats and lifestyles right before our eyes.
