  • Take a Break and Regulate

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity in supporting our students through DonorsChoose! When our middle schoolers walked into the classroom and saw the giant bean bag chair, cozy rugs, essential oil diffuser, and weighted stuffed animals, their excitement was priceless. They couldn't wait to try out their new calming space, and it has quickly become a favorite spot for students who need a moment to reset and regulate throughout the day.

This project has made a huge impact on our school by providing a safe and comfortable place for students to take a break when they feel overwhelmed. Having access to a dedicated space where they can relax, breathe, and refocus has already helped many students return to class feeling calmer and more prepared to learn. Thanks to your generosity, our students now have the tools they need to manage their emotions in a supportive environment. We are incredibly grateful for your contribution and the difference you have made in their daily lives!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Paine

  • Fidget Tools For Middle School

    Funded Dec 20, 2024

Thank you for donating to our school! These fidgets, along with the containers to hold them, are already making a huge difference in our students' daily lives. When they feel overwhelmed, they now have stress balls, Slinkies, visual timers, spinners, and marble mazes at their fingertips to help them calm their bodies and minds. It has been incredible to see the joy and excitement on their faces as they explore the different tools and find what works best for them.

My students have been especially eager to "teach their teachers" about the power of fidgets! We even conducted a small research project on the brain science behind fidgeting and how movement can improve focus and self-regulation. Thanks to your generosity, our classrooms are now more inclusive, supportive, and mindful spaces. We truly appreciate your kindness and belief in our students!”

  • Snacks For School

    Funded Mar 7, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to our school. Many of my students come to school hungry and these snacks have been able to help. They are also mostly middle school teenagers who are highly motivated by food and snacks, your donation has certainly helped with that.

My students have enjoyed having fruit snacks while taking their state-wide assessments over the past few weeks and have loved having granola bars to take with them while they go to Outdoor School with their Science class. Your donations have also provided Takis for all. I had no idea how popular Takis would be... the kids love them and for that, I thank you!”

  • Art Is for Expression

    Funded May 9, 2024

Thank you for your donations to our project. My students love being able to use the canvas and paints and aprons to create their works of art. They have used this project (especially being the end of the school year) to help them process through their thoughts and feelings about the school year coming to a close and the changes that will happen next year. Many of my students are in 8th grade and will be going into high school next year. This brings a lot of feelings and emotions and this project has helped to give them a way to express those feelings!

Thank you for your support and contributions to their emotional well being.”

  • Social Learning Books And Games

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you for contributing to this project. These books and games have been a wonderful addition to our Behavior Skills groups. The students have loved the Little Spot books and plush toys. They especially like holding the plush toy that matches the book we are reading each week.

Recently we have started reading about the Calm Spot which incorporates yoga and growth mindset into the learning. This book has paired wonderfully with the Mindset Ninja books and activities. The students actually made the original connection with the books and we have been able to use the two sets together to make some very meaningful lessons. They love it and I thank you for helping to give our students fun and engaging ways to practice and learn.”

  • Collaborative Mosaic Posters

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

Thank you for donating to our project. These mosaic sticker posters have been such a fun and collaborative addition to our programs. I have been able to bring posters to three of the schools that I work in and have seen all of the students light up. They really enjoy taking turns and each putting in their parts.

It has been great for them to visually see how each person's contribution eventually makes the whole big picture work together.

One school has used the stickers as an incentive that students can earn time working with a peer of their choice. It is wonderful to see them talking, bonding and working together.

Thank you again for making this possible.”

  • Art From the Heart

    Funded May 12, 2023

Thank you for donating to our project. The students have been extremely excited to create their paintings and especially to be able to take them home.

My student who recently got permanent housing was most excited to get to create something to decorate her bedroom. This is the first bedroom of her own she has ever had and the look on her face when we did the project was priceless.

Thank you for your donation and your continued support as we help our students develop emotional regulation and self confidence.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Being Social Through Game Play

    Funded Mar 7, 2023

Thank you for donating to our school and this project. They students have LOVED working collaboratively on the mosaic and of course they have enjoyed the games. We have been able to build on their social skills, sportsmanship and teamwork.

Many of the students will be leaving middle school in a few short weeks and going on to high school. The skills and friendships that they have built with the help of this project have been parts of the strategies they are excited to bring with them to high school.

The group is primarily made up of boys and these boys truly appreciate your donation and continued support.

    Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • Mindfulness Journals

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you for donating to our project. The students have been thrilled to have such nice supplies to use for our Mindfulness Journals. We have been introducing Mindfulness strategies throughout the last few weeks and now we can start putting them into practice with our journals.

I have given the students the option to keep their journals with them or to store them in the classroom. Most have asked to keep them with them because they know that they will want to use them even more than our scheduled times!

This is a very exciting project and we are so grateful to you for helping to make it happen. Thank you! and thank you for your continued support.”
