  • Paying it Forward

    Funded Apr 1, 2025

Thank you for supporting this very important project for our school's entire student body. When I first came up with this idea to have a clothing drive and starting a care closet, I didn't actually know it would "work" or if students would be interested in it.I was wrong! There is such a need on our campus and students loved the opportunity to "shop" for clothing and other items. The hangers, bins, and rack made it easier to sort and organize the items and the bags were useful for students to take their belongings home. I hope to be able to continue doing this at our school and to expand and reach as many students as possible. Thank you for helping me get off to a great start.”

  • Celebrate, Read ,and Write

    Funded May 7, 2025

Thank you for providing reading and writing materials for students. I have found that gratitude journals are a great way for students to reflect and to practice mindfulness. We will used these journals as "check ins" and class openers so students have time to write before we begin our formal lesson. Thank you for your support.”

  • You Shine Bright

    Funded May 5, 2025

Thank you for providing the materials to celebrate students with a memorable lunch celebration. We often forget that high school students are still kids in big bodies and they still deserve recognition and positive reinforcement. Thank you for making this possible and for allowing me to provide this experience for our school's scholars.”

  • Building Literacy, Mental Health and Gratitude

    Funded Apr 22, 2025

Thank you so much for contributing to this project that is very important to me and will have a huge positive impact on my students. Although the materials are for my classes for next year, I am certain they will love them and benefit from them. This past year, I made gift bags to welcome my students to high school, and I will do the same this next school year and include these materials and snacks. The journals will be used in class as an "opener" so students have time to gather their thoughts, reflect, and share out, if they feel comfortable. I used journaling and restorative justice circles this year and students really enjoyed them and shared that they appreciated the time and space to gather their thoughts. I'm excited to provide these journals to continue this practice next year in a more structured format. Thanks again!”

  • You Shine Bright!

    Funded Mar 9, 2025

Thank you for contributing to this very important project. It is important to celebrate students as it boosts their confidence and motivates them to achieve their goals. This time, approximately 130 students were celebrated with a nacho bar, desserts and a certificate as well as personalized pins and a picture. All students had their names written on a star and displayed on the wall which had a border of LED lights from this project. Students really do feel a lot of pride at earning these prizes, especially since many haven't earned a recognition since elementary school. Thank you for allowing me to create this special moment for students.”

  • Go With The Flow

    Funded Mar 28, 2025

Thank you for supporting female students at my school with these very important materials. It is a relief to know that I have essential feminine hygiene and self care products available to students in times of need. My students know that I have these items on hand and have spread the word to their friends. This project also provided a few extra goodies to create snack bags for students to have during spring break, which was a nice surprise for students. Being an educator is more than providing academic support- we have to think of all of the needs of students. Thank you for helping me meet some of my students' needs.”

  • Feeding Physical and Emotional Needs

    Funded Feb 5, 2025

Thank you for supporting this project. My students love to get rewarded and celebrated or given treats "just because." Thanks to your donations of the gift cards, I was able to purchase popular snacks and drinks for students a a great price. Some of the other items from this project were used to create treat bags for students to have on Valentine's Day. I teach at the high school level and sometimes I feel that students aren't celebrated enough. I appreciate you allowing me to bring some joy to students.”

  • Panther Celebration

    Funded Jan 16, 2025

Thank you so much for contributing to this very special project. It is always fun to celebrate and recognize students for their efforts and accomplishments. Students loved the food- we had pasta, sandwiches, rolls, and salad as well as water and cookies. Their names were written on paws (for our mascot) and displayed on the wall as decor. Each student also received a certificate and a button/pin, for bragging rights ; ) Each award recipient took a picture with the staff member that nominated and received a printed copy for themselves. High school students, in my opinion, don't get celebrated enough, or as much as the lower levels, so this is a nice opportunity to remind them that they are "seen" and valued.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Espinoza

The students I work with are “at-promise” and they are asked to stay after school, come in before school, and/or Saturdays for tutorials and enrichment opportunities. Although they are allowed to bring food and snacks, not all of them are able to. There are stores and fast food places outside the school but most of our students rely on free lunch and cannot afford to purchase snacks to eat outside of the school day. I would love to have a classroom pantry of snacks for my students to be able to have a snack while working on their academics rather than be hungry and unable to concentrate.
