  • Put Books In The Hands Of My Students At Home!

    Funded Feb 11, 2021

WOW! What a wonderful gift you have given my students. They truly enjoy reading our new books classroom. Some of their favorites include Moody Cow, I think some of them can relate to this character, especially on Monday mornings. Another favorite is; Listening to My Body: A guide to helping kids understand the connection between their sensations (what the heck are those?) and feelings so that they can get better at figuring out what they need. Each day, students have an opportunity to use our mindful corner in our classroom where they can read our new books, and learn how to manage their emotions.

When our books arrived, my students were super excited to see all the new titles available to them. The expression on their faces were definitely priceless.

Ww can't thank our donors enough for their generosity with this project.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Ourada

  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded May 6, 2020

WOW! What a wonderful gift you have given my students. They truly enjoyed learning how to organize materials for the classroom. I truly believe that organization is an essential skill children need to learn in order to become successful in their futures. Using this organizer helped my students learn to be responsible and willing participants in keeping our classroom neat and organized. I hope they keep this skill and continue using it throughout their lives.

When the shelf arrived, I began assembling it right away while my students were working independently. Many asked to lend a helping hand when they completed their work. That also helped students take ownership in the organization of our classroom.

We can't thank our donors enough for their generosity with this project.”

  • Flexible Seating Encourages Student Motivation

    Funded Sep 23, 2019

What a wonderful gift you have given my students. They are truly enjoying their new stools. Each week, new students are given an opportunity to use the stools instead of their chair. Most students enjoy moving while they're learning.

When the boxes arrived, I was excited to surprise my students with our new gifts the next day. In the morning, upon arrival, students expressed their excitement for their new alternative seating. They couldn't wait to use the stools, and each one had to try them out, making sure they worked properly . The expression on their faces was definitely priceless.

Flexible classroom seating is important for today's very active students. Our new wobble stools, offer students a choice as to how and where they want to learn for the day. They also allow students the flexibility to be active listeners/learners. My students use the stools every day for daily instruction, group collaboration, and individual learning centers. Every student who has used the wobble stools, enjoys their new alternative to learning.

We can't thank our donors enough for their generosity with this project.”

  • Listen Up!

    Funded Feb 28, 2019

What a wonderful gift you have given my students. They are will truly enjoy using the new headphones and yoga cushions. Each day, students have an opportunity to listen to reading using our chromebooks. However, many students do not have headphones. These headphones will allow more students to listen to reading at the same time.

I know that when the boxes arrive, my students will be super excited to see our new headphones and yoga cushions. The expression on their faces will definitely be priceless.

Even though the purpose of these headphones is to use them for listening. Many students will also enjoy using them to cancel out noise in the classroom, helping them to concentrate better on their own reading or daily work. We can't thank our donors enough for their generosity with this project.”

  • Encouraging Critical Thinking With a Document Camera

    Funded Jan 24, 2019

What a wonderful gift you have given my students. They are will truly enjoy using the new document camera. Each day, we used our older document camera to project our math learning. Our older model did not have a good quality picture and often times made us feel like we were watching waves. Our new document camera will allow my students to participate more effectively during lessons..

When the box arrived, my students were super excited to see our new document camera and excitedly wanted me to use it that same day. The expression on their faces was definitely priceless.

  • Wobble Here, Wobble There, Wobble, Wobble Everywhere!

    Funded Feb 2, 2018

What a wonderful gift you have given my students. They are truly enjoying their new wobble stools. Each week, new students are given an opportunity to use the stools instead of their chair. Most students enjoy moving while they're learning. Some of their thank you letters stated that they enjoy being able to "wobble while they learn and work." They also stated that they like to wobble while they read, write, and practice math facts. They say it helps them get the "fidgets" out while learning.

When the boxes arrived, I was excited to surprise my students with our new gifts the next day. In the morning, upon arrival, students expressed their excitement for their new alternative seating. Many of my students fidget in their seats, rock on their chairs, and struggle with staying on task during lessons. Actually, one of my fears is that my students who rock on their chairs, will fall off and hit their head. That's why this project would help. I would like to have several standing desks in the classroom. Mobile standing desks offer the most flexibility to meet demands of instruction, accommodate different teaching styles, and allow for my students to feel successful learners. These desks would be used on a rotating basis so all students could experience the benefits of this type of learning. A flexible classroom environment allows adaptation as students are better engaged while providing opportunities to arrange the room so that the physical space never gets in the way of learning the material. Student needs are changing over time, making standing desks a way for learners to be actively engaged in their learning in a safe way. It has been proven that student attention and focus improves with this type of flexible seating. It is my hope to be able to provide this type of flexible seating for my students to enjoy.
