  • Let's Go Camping

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

Thank you for supporting my classroom with the supplies to transform our room into a camping area. The students used flashlights to read books and work on Language and Math activities throughout the day. The tent was a big hit, they loved working in the tent and around the campfire. One student said this is so much fun, it was one of the best days of school so far. Students went "fishing" for words and sat in camping chairs to read. During math we fished for addition problems and then said the subtraction problems that went with it. The students had a great time camping on a Texas Rainy day.”

  • Fun Incentives

    Funded May 8, 2022

Thank you for your support in getting fun classroom incentives into the hands of the students. They really enjoyed picking out a sticker or a fun fidget. Students were able to earn incentives by getting a special card signed by any adult in the building. It did not need to be just the classroom teacher. Once they had five initials, they were able to pick one from the variety of fun "prizes". Thank you for letting us provide such fun incentives for the students. Several had a hard time picking which one they wanted.”

  • Zoo Classroom Transformation

    Funded Oct 18, 2021

Thank you for your support and generosity to our classroom. With our zoo classroom transformation, Students become zookeepers taking care of zoo animals in this real-world activity and get to find 10 more or 10 less. When they complete all math challenges they win! My students became problem-solving experts in our classroom. This transformation allowed my students to practice their academic skills while getting to experience zoo fun at the same time. Students had fun reviewing math and reading skills throughout their zoo day experience.”

  • Social Emotional Learning With Little SPOT

    Funded Jan 8, 2022

Thank you for your generosity and support of my class. Each Friday I have decided to read one story and have a class discussion over the topic. We have covered scribble (all emotions), love, kindness and courage. Students are enjoying listening to the stories and sharing experiences.

Everyone Wants and needs to be loved! sometimes its hard to figure out how to LOVE someone the way they want to be LOVED. The LOVE story shows a fun PINK spot and it guides you through the ways you can express love. We made a love spot and illustrated ways we could grow our love spot.

Scribble is a colorful story to help students easily identify their emotions through color. One day Scribble SPOT isn't feeling very well, he is all tangled with emotions. He feels angry, happy, sad, peaceful, confident, and love all at the same time. After we read the story we scribbled our emotion colors into our own scribble spot.”

  • Chef and Candyland

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

My students walked into our classroom on Valentines Day with the room decorated as Candyland. They had a blast reviewing reading skills such as ending sounds and diagraphs while playing a game. During math the students walked around answering ten different word problems. Each problem had a candy sign and a themed problem. Once answers were found the students had to get it checked. At the end of the day they said it was one of the best days and it was SO much fun! Learning can be fun, 🤩 thank you for your support in helping me make learning fun!”

  • New Fidgets

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

Thank you for all your support in getting new fidgets into our classroom. The students are loving to have a fidget everyday that they get to pick out in the morning and return at the end of the day. When a student comes in the morning they get a fidget number, and they return the number with the fidget at the end of the day. This way I know everything has been turned back into me. Students are really enjoying the tubes and squishes throughout the day. They are learning how to use the materials along with working. I put small popits in there too, and they are never picked! The students want something they can put in the hand and wiggle, squeeze or rub while working. It is great to see that they are enjoying these fidgets while working and not playing with it as a toy.”

  • Glow Day Transformation

    Funded Oct 4, 2021

Thank you so very much for allowing my students to have an amazing time reviewing in out "glow lab". They had the best time reviewing math and reading during the day. They did not want to stop and wanted to go back, so we did at the end of the week. I used our school science lab to transform into our glow lab. We use blacklights to have everything glow. We used glow dice and glow popits to review our addition and subtraction. We wrote in yellow highlighter so our answers would glow. We spelled words with glow sticks and pipecleaners. We played a cup stacking game to review our vocabulary words. We played a true or false math game with glow sticks and glowing water bottles. We used neon stickers to move under our words to count the sounds of words. The students had a blast learning and reviewing in the glow lab!”

  • Classroom Material for 40 Transformations

    Funded Sep 16, 2021

I set up our school science lab into a circus theme. Using the themed math tasks for each child to work through. The students enjoyed finding the circus acts and animals to see which task they needed to complete. The students even enjoyed and worked really hard on the harder skills too. With some collaboration all students were successful. I am already planning the next transformations - neon/glow in dark and being zoo keepers. The students had such a great experience in learning they did not want to stop for lunch or recess. It was great to see how excited each child was and how they helped each other.”

  • Come One Come All

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

I transformed our school science lab with a few others teachers into a magnificent circus/carnival themed room! The students came into the science room one day to learn not knowing it had changed into our themed room. They had so much fun they did not want to leave. The students were very interested in getting through all the themed activities and work. One said it was the best day ever! They were a little disappointed that we did not go back the next day and wanted to know when we got to go back. Can not wait to do another transformation for them. Thank you for allowing my students the opportunity to be "in" a circus for a day.”

  • Financial Literacy Money

    Funded Sep 28, 2021

My students are loving to learn the different coins with the plastic coins. We used a 109 chart to show each coin up to 100 cents. We learned how many of each coin it would take. Having the magnetic coins to show the students has really helped visual learners. We have learned which each coin is and the value. We have learned how to add a mixed group of coins by skip counting. We finished our unit with the hands-on coins puzzles and games. Many of the students loved the higher level thinking that the puzzles offered.”
