These books will give my students a new perspective on the characters in their anchor text, The Breadwinner, and will help deepen their understanding of the reading. I appreciate your genorsity and know that these resources will be put to good use.”

Foster The Love Of Reading For These Vibrant 5th Graders
Funded May 7, 2016Thank you to all the generous donors who helped fund this project. You are a stepping stone in my students' journey to becoming lovers of reading and I can not tell you, not only how much it means to me, but how much it means to my 5th graders.
These books are going to become part of my students' personal library. A book they can take home and have all to themselves. This is a luxury many of my students do not know. This book will allow my students to be successful in their upcoming academics and I thank you for taking away the anxiety for how they would get this book in order to finish this important assignment. Thank you.”

Great Kids Need Great Books!
Funded Jun 4, 2015I am writing this letter with a heart full of gratitude. Your donation enabled myself to provide a summer reading book to each and every fifth grade student at the Browne Middle School. When I told the students that not only did they not have to worry about finding a way to get the book on their own over the summer, but that they were also going to be able to keep the book as their very own, their faces lit up with excitement. These kids have very few things to call their own and to be able to give them this book was very special. The students brought their books home over the summer to complete the summer reading challenge and I am very happy to report that over 85% of our students completed their summer reading! This is a huge increase than in past years. It would not have happened without your donation. The students are still coming up to me in the hallways to tell me how much they liked the book and how fun it was to have it as their own so they could annotate right on the pages (a skill we practice in class). To see their excitement to read something was heartwarming and I know that by being able to give each student a book we were able to provide students the resources they needed to begin their year successfully. Thank you again my fifth graders and I appreciate you!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. O'Connell
