Wobbly Kids
Funded Jun 5, 2017Happy Holidays from John Welsh! Being without recess some days can cause the students to be become antsy in their seats. They become unfocused and can not learn. The students now rock in their wobbly cushion in their seats to allow them to control their focus. They love taking the cushions to the carpet to listen to books being read. They also like to read at the reading center with their cushions. They beg me to take them to other rooms in the school because they love them so much. Thank you again!”

Learning Up Close With a Document Camera!
Funded Sep 3, 2017Happy Holidays! Our class would like to thank you very much for your generous donations to our classroom. It has greatly impacted our classroom space in ways that I could have not imagined. The curtains make the classroom brighter and the kids reference them everyday. They love the map of the world the most because they are so amazed that there are areas so far from Philadelphia. The document camera allows the students to project their work for the others to see. It also gives me the opportunity to project chapter books and directions for the students to finish their work. Again, thank you for the opportunity to give my students a better education.”

Out Of Supplies And Other Needed Items!
Funded Apr 13, 2016My students thank you greatly for these donations. They love listening to books on tape and using the headphones for the computers also. As you can see, they get a lot of use out of the crayons. We have created so many things with them. One of their favorite games to play is the bingo game. Their tests for reading words have gone up already. The pencils are a great help for the students that are missing pencils because of lack of funds. They are so appreciative of all of the items and so am I.
Again, thank you very much!
Mrs. Niedrist's class loves you all!”

This classroom project was brought to life by the estate of Dorothea Lutz and 5 other donors.2nd Grade Needs Organization and Supplies
Funded Sep 5, 2015Each day a new box was delivered and every morning the students in my classroom were excited to see what was enclosed. Like I expected, a very little about of supplies were brought in by the students but because of your generous donations, the students are able to work on their everyday assignments.
I asked the students what they love the most about our new supplies. Most of them love that they have glue and construction paper. They try to find any possible time to get their creative hands working.
Soon, I will be implementing a daily morning journal in the students binders. The students are excited to begin this journey of getting their ideas out on paper.
Again, thank you for your generosity.
Have a great holiday season!”

Mrs. Niedrist
