  • Privacy Please!

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

    Thank you so much for your donations and funding our project of privacy shields for our students! The privacy shields will be used for assessments and at times when students may feel overwhelmed, they have a quiet and safe place to retreat too.

    As we begin the new school year, we just received them in the mail and students were so excited to know that they were for them! We are going to use them first thing for a spelling assessment tomorrow!

    We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for funding the privacy boards, as they are quite pricey and not easy to get. We feel very lucky and fortunate to have them and can't thank you enough. Thank you for your kind donations!”

  • Get Set, Be Ready!

    Thank you so much for your donation as it has made an impact on my student's organization process as we navigate the beginning of the school year. Each student received a pencil box to hold their pencils, crayons, colored pencils, markers, and bookmarks. It gives them an easily accessible place to go to for all of their supplies. We have not lost a pencil yet!

    The students were very appreciative of their pencil boxes as most come from a lower socioeconomic area. They were relieved to not have to purchase anything for the beginning of the school year, as most schools suggest.

    We will use these pencils boxes all year long and can't thank you enough for the organization and joy it has provided for my students. We appreciate your kind donations and thank you for a great start to the new school year!”

  • Fidget and Focus

    Thank you so much for your generous donation in helping fund our fidgets for Room 31! The students were overjoyed when they saw the package and couldn't believe their eyes! They were even more excited to learn that they could take a fidget home or keep it in the classroom. Just to know that it belonged to them made a huge difference in their behavior and attitude.

    Students were able to pick and choose the one that they wanted and also had a choice of keeping it in the classroom or taking it home. Many chose to keep it in the classroom and it definitely helped students ease their anxiety and calm their senses.

    Thank you so much for making it a memorable year for them and allowing them to calm their senses as needed. The fidget toys were a hit and definitely a mood booster as well. We appreciate your donations!”

  • Seat Pockets to Hold All Treasured Items

    Thank you so much for our seat pockets! The students were so excited to receive them after our winter break! I received them at my home a few days after Christmas and I was so excited to place them in my classroom that I went in and placed them on their seats during break. The look on their faces were priceless! They were confused at first, but once they realized what the seat pockets could do, they started to busily fill it.

    They are currently using it to hold all their goodies, and their desks are clutter free! They are able to organize and keep everything they need at hand. Thank you so much for your generous donations in helping fund this project for us!”

  • Pencils and Photos That Will Change My 3rd Graders Lives

    Thank you so much for allowing us to have access to a remarkable pencil sharpener and photo printer. The joy that the students have for sharp pencils that are not one inch tall, are the little things we take for granted. Now that we are back at school and in person, it is a joy to see their little fingers write instead of typing all the time. With access to both sharpened pencils and chromebooks, my third graders are ready to tackle the world!

    At first, the students didn't know how to sharpen their own pencils. They would watch it twirl around inside the sharpener. However, they are now pro's and can sharpen a pencil in just a few seconds. Then they are off to write or draw to their heart's content.

    The color printer has come in handy as we were able to first print pictures of their adorable faces without masks on. This allows for us to be a classroom where we know each other beyond the mask. The printer has also allowed for us to print out pictures of words that we may not know that help broaden their vocabulary.

    We deeply appreciate your graciousness and thank you so much for bringing joy to Room 31!”

The amount of time they take to sharpen a pencil and then have it break on them has been taking away from their learning experience. They also end up with very short pencils. Have you ever tried to write with a one-inch pencil? My 3rd graders need a new pencil-sharpening station. Also, please help me give our 3rd-grade students a choice to write with a tool or print with a photo printer. The photo printer will prove to be a great tool for printing vocabulary words, visuals for math, fluency stories, writing tools, and taking pictures of each other for great social and emotional learning. Help our 3rd graders have access to daily pictorial input, colorful illustrations, and technology tools in our classroom as we do not have access to print in color in our classrooms. Help me give my students a new sharpener and photo printer access to balanced writing and digital pictures.
