  • Word Power

    Funded Feb 17, 2024

Thank you so very much for your kindness. I appreciate that you fully funded the project so that we were able to get the dictionaries quickly. We will use them throughout the school day as well as when we do in class testing and state testing. These dictionaries will give the students autonomy in their class.

Students will use them in class to help them define words they aren't quite aware of. It takes 6 to 7 years for students to fully acquire the vocabulary needed to fully access the curriculum. These dictionaries will help fill that gap until they have it all. Thank you!”

  • Making Learning English Fun

    Funded Jan 25, 2024

Thank you so much for your help to make learning fun. My students will enjoy playing the games while they are learning. It is very intimidating to learn a new language, the best way is to bring the fun into it. When they don't know they are learning, makes it the easiest for them to gain the knowledge. This also brings joy to their day.

Learning a new language is stressful and feeling like you don't know what everyone else does puts a damper on a child's spirit. Allowing them to enjoy their time while they are learning English is the key to brightening their day.”

  • Helping Newcomers Be Successful

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

Thank you so much for your kindness. It is much appreciated by my students. I was able to gather exciting lessons that helped make the lessons engaging for them. You allowed and gave me the ability and ease to take a boring worksheet and make it something that my students were excited about learning. This engaging activity had students using hands on materials, interacting with each other and building confidence as they discussed the different options that the breakout could result in. This allows for my students to practice their English skills in a fun way!”

  • Fun and Engaging Activities

    Funded Jan 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation. This gift card allowed for me to purchase many resources that I will use to keep the classroom fun and engaging. The 5th grade students will have a blast playing games about prefix and suffixes while they are learning too! My younger students in 2nd grade will enjoy practicing their sight words with all the new hands on sight word games that I was able to download. These are editable and will be able to be used for all their sight words throughout the year. Thank you so much!”

  • Distance Learning

    Funded Aug 24, 2020

Thank you so much for your help. With the materials I was able to get distance learning has been a breeze. The ring light allows for my students to get the best viewing of me so that I can teach, use the whiteboard and manipulatives with them and make it seem as warm and inviting as possible.

The computer stand and mouse have also made teaching virtually a breeze. I am able to navigate quickly through things using my 2nd monitor to be able to project items to teach with. The mouse makes it so much easier to teach online so that I can have the ease to move around the computer quickly and project different things as needed for a lesson.”

  • Morning Choice Fun

    Funded Dec 26, 2019

The students love coming into the classroom every morning. They are excited to start their day building community with each other by playing games and enjoying each others company. In fact they have created a connect four bracket challenge.

The kids rush in the door, unpack and get right to work so they can begin their morning choice activities. With your generous donations the students have a variety of choices so everyone is happy!

The kids are learning new games, how to build their creativity, work together and best of all start their day excited!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nathanson

  • Creativity to Start the Day with STEAM Bins

    Funded May 18, 2019

This has made a world of difference for my students. They come in excited every morning for school because of the high interest they have with their morning choice. We had been doing STEAM bins but didn't have a wide variety. At the end of last year they were ecstatic when I debuted the new STEAM bins that were purchased through this project. They get to build classroom community as they continue to become more creative learners every morning. You can see how they are learning to work together and create a plan before they begin building. Their creativity is displayed through their morning STEAM bins and they have the chance to chat with their friends and build that community while starting their day.”

  • Breakout of Boring Lessons

    Funded Nov 26, 2018

The kids absolutely love the resources. We have used the lanyards with several of our transformations. Each transformation the kids get a name tag that matches the transformation. They proudly wear their name tag all day. Sometimes transformations last several days and they still love wearing it the whole time. They love the magic black light pens. This helps when we do breakout activities to hide their codes and letters they need to find to complete the breakout. The puzzles have problems written on them and the kids then put it back together to find a code on the back for the breakout. They love every minute of our breakouts!”

  • Comfortable Learning

    Funded Sep 15, 2018

Thank you so much for your generous donation. The minute I opened the box I knew that the kids were going to be so excited for their new flexible seating options. Our lounge pillow is a great place for students to listen to our read aloud, have their own quite reading time or do group work. The stools are a great addition to our small group table as well as the students grab them and take them around the room to do small group work. Students just love having the control of where they sit and it helps promote responsibility in the classroom. We also loved adding the light covers to take away the fluorescent glare that we had in our room. It has made our classroom such a nice and inviting atmosphere. We really do appreciate your thoughtfulness!”

  • Let's Get Our Neon Read On!

    Funded Sep 6, 2018

Thank you so much for donating to our classroom. We absolutely love using our flower highlighters to help us learn text structure. Our students were so excited when the highlighters arrived and anxiously awaited the text structure unit to begin. They were counting down to a unit that is usually very difficult for them and helped get them excited for it! Once the unit began, they were instantly engaged because of the highlighters.

We have used the black lights in our classroom for our Halloween Touch and Taste Lab transformation. They are so excited to have another "glow day" with the black light for their text structure unit. We will turn all the lights off. Everyone will get to pick their glow necklace which instantly grabs their attention. And then...the learning begins! We will use our flower highlighters to highlight the text and find the text structure in each paragraph.

Thank you again for your generous donations. We very much appreciated it!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Nathanson

Setting the stage to engage children in learning is the new revolution. This year my goal is to make school a place children WANT to be and not where they feel they HAVE to be. With "get your neon read on" students will be excited to come to school. They will put on their neon glasses to super focus on the text. They will then use their flower highlighters to mark specific things in different colors to help identify the different types of non fiction. After we finish our super focused neon read on we will have a neon read on glow party where students will use their highlighters to identify items and answer questions from the non fiction text. The students will use their glasses throughout the year as a reminder to super focus in on the text and highlight their evidence.
