"Learning Without Tears" Puts a Smile on Every Face!
Funded Dec 5, 2021I am so excited to see how quickly my students are progressing as they use the "Handwriting Without Tears" curriculum. They are learning to form letters with the wooden sticks and to draw figures using the Mat Man song. Their fine motor skills are improving and they are enjoying all the songs and movements that go with it.
My class consists of 7 beautiful and uniquely talented children on the spectrum and this curriculum is very interactive and a multi sensory approach that keeps my students engaged and motivated. I am very grateful for all your support in making this program available for my students. It is a joy to watch my students as they work, play and learn.
Thank you all so much!”

Funded Oct 22, 2021I am so grateful for your generous contribution to my class. Our students are loving all the books and they enjoy looking at the pictures. As we begin celebrating Black History Month , my students are learning so much with books such as We March, Hidden Figures, and Those shoes.
The students enjoy listening to me read and then we discuss the story and point to the pictures. Most of my students are non verbal and they love to listen and then point to the pictures.
All my students enjoy the books at their own pace. They love having quiet reading time and sitting in our library and looking at the pictures as well as using the books to find familiar sight words. My students also like to retell the stories in their own words or in pictures. They are loving their independence and they love to share with the class what they have learned.
Thank you again so much for giving my students the opportunity to love reading and to learn and share their new found knowledge with others.”

Funded Oct 8, 2021My students and their typical peers are enjoying the puzzles and working together . I am so excited to hear them use appropriate language and they are learning to share and take turns.
When the package arrived they were so very excited to see the colorful puzzles. They were so happy and they just could not wait to start playing.
Your donation has had such a great impact on our class. The students are building their social skills and learning so much from their typical peers. Their typical peers are also learning acceptance and patience.
Your kind donation has provided our class the stepping stones needed to help move our students in the right direction. The skills they will learn during our social settings in the classroom will surely be transferred as they transition to other areas.
My goal is for them to engage appropriately in other social settings and I feel these supplies and the interaction between the students will accomplish this goal.
Many thanks again for your generosity and the care and kindness you provided with your donation.”

Mrs. Natal

When the package arrived they were so excited. I took all the items out of the box and set them up at different stations. The students were allowed to explore each. The Boogie boards were a big hit!! My students are interacting and communicating so much more since we have been using the Boogie Boards. We will be using them in a vocabulary game this week! They Love them!
