Monologue Me!
Funded May 10, 2023Thank you very much for your support! With your backing, we were able to add ten new books to our theatre library.
The students are already scouring them in search of monologues, duets, and group acting scenes they can compete with during the Arkansas State Thespian Festival in February. They will also come in handy when we do our monologue study in April, excellent for acting and memorization skills. They will also be using them to find new theatre games to teach acting skills to their summer campers in June!
We thank you for your donation to our classroom from the very pits of of our little dramatic hearts.”

Funded Aug 11, 2023On behalf of my thirty zombies, I thank you! We had so much fun learning about this kind of make up.
We successfully held our first zombie run, and let me tell you, it was a BLAST! The students planned out every part of the event from the course to the costumes. They designed their own signature look and used their newly acquired skills to put on an awesome show! We've never had so much fun scaring the soup out of people.
All the kids learned so much and did a great job zombi-fying themselves!”

Funded Mar 2, 2023Thank you so much for supporting our drama department during the production of our most recent play "The Beverly Hillbillies!" The students learned a lot from the materials you so generously helped supply. The lighting and sound tech found the new voice activated light-bar very useful when setting up the mics for the show. The students on stage during the performance were able to visually see whether their microphones were reaching the audience or not and turn them on while on stage if they had forgotten! Talk about a game changer! The drill came in handy both when constructing and striking the set. We haven't gotten to play with the thremoplastic yet, but we are just itching to get our fingers on it! Thanks again!”

Personalized Organization in the Prop Shop
Funded Aug 10, 2022The students were incredibly excited about their individual makeup boxes. They got busy right away organizing their things within them. After the show, several of the students made comments as to how much easier it was to keep up with their individual makeup items, brushes, lashes, curlers, wigs, and hair accessories.
We have had shows with up to sixty students in the cast. This type of organization is incredibly helpful when they are trying to keep up with so many small items!
On behalf of the cast of Aladdin Jr, BIC Drama Department, and Thespian Troupe 8752, I sincerely thank you for your support!”

Masking Our Emotional Baggage
Funded Sep 28, 2020Thank you so much for your gracious support and generosity. Our little troupe appreciates it more than you can ever know. Because of you, we not only learned mask making skills, but we also had a lot of fun while doing it. This pandemic has been hard on everyone and doing this competition felt like a little piece of normal! It was all around a great learning experience and we brought home two special recognition awards, one for student directing and one for outstanding ensemble work. We even had two students named to All State Cast and All State Crew!”

Funded Oct 22, 2019We are incredibly thankful for your support on this project! It was not only already used by our StageCraft class during our annual elementary school Christmas show; but, it was also used during our junior high parent night.
During the Elementary Christmas show, Elf, it was used to help with changing settings. The class chose pictures to broadcast during the show that represented the different settings in the show. It really added a lot to the show and helped them bring it to life for the little ones! They had so much fun.
During our junior high parent night, the students used it to project book trailers that they had created for their recent book reports. They could be seen proudly observing their work with their parents.
So, thank you again for all your support!”

Funded Feb 10, 2019My students and I thank you very much for your contribution to our Donors Choose project! We have thoroughly enjoyed the graphic novel adaptation of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The novels helped tremendously in bringing Shakespeare's complicated language, intricate dialogue, and unfamiliar stage directions to life!
When asked what they thought about studying the graphic novels alongside the original texts the students said things like:
"The comics made me understand the book better than the regular book did."
"This book helped the confusing story of Romeo and Juliet easy for us to understand."
"Shakespeare is very difficult to understand and this book helped me a lot."
"My classmates and I greatly enjoyed reading Romeo and Juliet."
So, as you can see, your donation helped them not only to develop a better understanding of the language used, but also resulted in their enjoyment!”

Mrs. Spencer
