I teach 7th grade World History. I have approximately 140 students. My students come from various socio-economic backgrounds. We are a school wide Title One district and school. A majority of my students do not have access to computers or Internet at home. Our school population is over 60% free and reduced lunch. However, despite their adversity, they are inquisitive and enjoy hands on learning. The more simulations I can provide for them the more engaged they will be in a topic that most find uninteresting in irrelevant. Simulation exercises help students comprehend topics that may be challenging to them. They also leave a lasting impression that have them talking in and out of the classroom and school environment.
