  • Kindergarten Resources for Google Classroom

    Funded May 28, 2020

I can't thank you enough for supporting my project. Being able to provide digital curriculum to my students has been amazing. We are 100% virtual. If I had to create all of these resources myself I do not know what I would do. Being able to purchase these resources from Teachers Pay Teachers has helped me in ways you can't even imagine. The stress of online teaching is a lot. Finding the right resources and them making them accessible for my students takes up so much time. Thankfully I have been able to find resources that were created for the platforms we use, Google Meet and Seesaw. I am able to use the Google Slides during my direct instruction then assign the activities for practice through the platform Seesaw Learning. What you have given me, is time, time to spend with my family, time away from the computer, so for this I thank you.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mugurussa

  • Kindergarten Resources for Google Classroom

    Funded May 20, 2020

Thank you so much for donating to my project. You have helped me to provide curriculum for my students to use daily. We are 100% virtual. I need curriculum that was already designed for the platform that we use. Being able to purchase this via a TeachersPayTeachersgift card has been a dream. Not having to spend money from my own pocket during these tough times, means so much to me.

My students absolutely love the activities they are completing on-line. Parents love the consistency of the assignments. They are familiar with the daily routines each week and know what to expect. I specifically love that i was able to purchase digital readers for my students. Each week they practice reading, then record their-self. I love hearing each student read their beginning alphabet books.

My students are learning and it is because I am able to provide them with the needed materials to show me what they know each and every week.Thank you again for your generous donation.”

  • Kindergarten Reading Resources for Google Classroom

    Funded Jun 20, 2020

Thank you so much for your donation. With your donation, i have been able to purchase digital materials for my students. We are 100% virtual. Having these materials for distance learning has given me the ability to continue teaching without having to worry about creating curriculum. My students love the on-line activities. They know what to expect each day as I am able to provide them with a routine in daily assignments and I can see that they are learning and excelling. Again, Thank you for your generous support.”

  • Access to Mentor Texts

    Funded Aug 22, 2019

Thank you so much for contributing to my project. Having these books to share with my students means the world to me. My students love the books I have already shared with them. I can't wait to read all of the books with them throughout the school year.

I love being able to read the book all the way through without stopping the first time. I want my students to just enjoy the book on the first read. On the next day, we stop along the way discussing in detail parts of the text, clarifying vocabulary, and perhaps what the authors purpose was.

Giving my students access to great literature means I am able to expose them to authors they might never get to read on their own. Thank you”

  • Color Printer and Card Stock

    Funded Jan 21, 2016

This printer has been an amazing gift. I use it almost daily. I create so much of our own classroom materials and resources. Now I have the ability to print these resources in color for my students. When I am teaching my students about colors I am no longer coloring in the objects with crayons and markers, I can simply print the pages in color. This is such a valuable time saver. The cardstock I received for this project was also used for these resources. The cardstock helps to make the resources last longer.

My students love to be handed a book that is in color rather than a plain black and white text book. Reading a book with colorful pictures is more exciting and enticing. It is hard for them to imagine the deep blue ocean and the colorful fish if the pages they are looking at are all black and white. Now I can print them in color for them to read.

I also take 100's of photos throughout the year. Often we use these photos in scrapbooks and writing projects. Being able to print these photos immediately has saved me so much time, time that I can spend working on other school things, or time that I can spend with my family at home rather then having to go across town and wait for photos to be printed. Furthermore, should a student be absent, I can quickly snap their photo and print it out without having to run across town to have it printed.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to help make this Donors Choose project come true for me and my students.”

  • iPad For The Classroom

    Funded Jul 25, 2014

Thank you so much for helping me with my project. My students love using the iPad. We have two times per day where we are using technology in our classroom. My students are able to navigate through different apps and access learning. I am always amazed at how quickly they can learn their way around a new app and can share their knowledge with their fellow students. For my special needs students, the iPad has been a blessing. If they aren't able to do what the other students are doing, I can set them up with the iPad. Thank you again for helping me fun this project.”

  • iPad for the Classroom

    Funded Mar 26, 2014

My students were so excited to receive the iPad. One students exclaimed "it is just like Christmas". Having an iPad for the students to used gave my students an opportunity to experience technology in a classroom setting. The iPad is used daily in the classroom. I created an iPad usage chart so students had equal access to the iPad. Each day students were rotated in 20 minute intervals. This ensured that every student had access to the iPad at least once per week.

During Language arts rotation students used the iPad with our reading program Lexia. This gave students an opportunity to work on specific phonic and reading skills. During math rotations, my students used the iPad with different mathematical apps working on number sense, addition and word problems.

I was also able to connect the iPad to my projector for our daily brain break activities using a website call Go Noodle. Students danced along to fitness videos projected onto a screen. Having the iPad connected to the projector allowed me to introduce new apps to the class in a large group so that when they had one-to-one time using the app, they were familiar with it.

All of these learning experiences would not have been possible without your generous donations. Thank you for supporting my project.”

  • Hands-on Math

    Funded May 11, 2012

Thank you so much for funding my math project. I can't begin to tell you how great it is to have math manipulatives to use daily with my students. The tub of dice is used all of the time for number practice and all of the dice games we play during our math center time. As you can tell from our photos we use many of the other tubs contents for practicing patterns. My students are mastering the skill of patterning thanks to your generous donation. Having a variety of math tubs to use with my students makes teaching math more enjoyable. My students love it when they see me pulling out the containers, they know that when they see the containers we will be doing something fun.”

  • A Place to Call Home

    Funded Aug 30, 2010

Thanks you so much for funding my project A Place Called Home. My students were so surprised last week when they saw their new cubbies. They love their cubbies. Every day when they come into the classroom, they place their belongings in their cubbies. They now have a special place to place their belongings.. they are learning how to take care of their belongings. The cubbies also allow them to keep their pencil boxes and their special award tickets safe. They are very proud of their special cubby. Thanks for making my students smile.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Mugurussa

I teach at a very low socio--economic school. The majority of my students are second language learners. More than 3/4 of my class is on free or reduced lunch. Asking our families to help with fundraisers is out of the question. My students love school, they love to learn and are eager to learn.
