  • Lap It Up! - Flexible Seating

    Funded Nov 8, 2024

THANK YOU for funding this project! My students have been utilizing the lap desks in a variety of ways. Some students use them as lapdesks while they sit on the floor in a comfortable spot. Others use them as standing desks to help them wiggle while they work.

These desks have also increased the ease with which students are able to collaborate with others. They fit together so nicely to make a mini floor table.

Overall, my students are much more engaged. They feel more confident about going off to work independently, knowing they have a choice for how they can do their best work.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Muenzen

  • Science Investigation Materials Needed!

    Funded Nov 9, 2023

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Because of your generosity, over 50 students were able to explore electric energy and how it flows. The excitement in the room was palpable as students conducted their hands-on investigation! The learning that occurred through experience was invaluable!

As you read in my project proposal, the materials I had worn through, were broken and unusable. I did not have to worry about safety issues like bare wires or sharp edges on rigid materials. The materials you so generously donated are high quality and will undoubtedly last my students for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Muenzen

  • Organize This! - Aussie Pouches

    Funded Dec 17, 2019

The students have placed the Aussie Pouch seat sacks on the back of their chairs. They are perfect for storing our homework folder, notebooks, and pencil cases. Some of them even put a few extra supplies in our pouches. They now have room in our desks that we have organized. This allowed us to clear a table in our room that was storing homework notebooks and folders. We were also able to de-clutter a section of our room. The students know exactly where all of their materials are now, as their desks are not cluttered and overflowing with supplies and materials. Our classroom definitely runs more efficiently now!

When the students first saw their seat sacks they were incredibly excited. The gasped and oohed. They were so excited. They asked what and when they could start loading them up. (They hadn't even gotten to their own desks yet!)

I am continuing to foster my students organizational and executive functioning skills. Now that they have seen the benefit of an organized personal learning space, we are going to have them help us reorganize our classroom library in a more efficient, child-friendly way. Thank you for getting them started on the right path!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Muenzen

My students are hardworking! They have a passion for ELA and come ready to learn everyday! They are a group comprised of general education students, ELLs, students on the Autism Spectrum, and students with other varied learning disabilities. My student are highly motivated by technology and their engagement sky rockets when they have the opportunity to incorporate technology into their day. Many of my students are from low income households that do not have computers. School is the only place they have access to this type of technology.
