  • Robots, Robots, Everywhere!

    Funded Oct 22, 2018

The kids were thrilled to open up the robot kits! The robot kits we received in the classroom are open ended since they are filled with components that allow the imagination to run wild. Instead of creating one type of robot, we are going to turn this into a personalized robot race! The students have already started collected water bottle caps for wheels so we can design the best robots possible! The most exciting things about these robot component kits are they promote creativity and require a growth mindset. Each child can make their robot with as much flair, aerodynamics, or personalized style as he or she wants. Thank you!”

  • Makes Cents To Me!

    Funded Sep 15, 2018

When my kids watched me open the box of goodies from Donors Choose, they gasped and cheered! They wanted to know what we were going to do with the items and when they could use them. A group of kids came up to test out the coin stamps while another group helped to sort coins into the new plastic "banks". Some students read through the books and labeled them with our class name. The bear sorting group looked through the bears to see the different colors and sizes. Finally, a bunch of kids were in charge of setting up the cards by peeling the plastic and stickers off the packaging. Our classroom looked like a small business!

Thank you for investing in our kids and giving them an opportunity to take ownership of their tools as they learn about financial literacy and number sense!”

  • Jumping and Scooping

    Funded Dec 22, 2017

Thank you so much for supporting our classroom PE program. The students were thrilled to get new equipment!

Having brand new jump ropes gave everyone an opportunity to improve their jumping skills! Some kids who could only jump 2 times can now jump up to 5 times! Our new scoops made it possible for each child to play at the same time. Some partners increased their "Personal Best" records to over 50 throws without dropping.

Your generosity helped us get new equipment that makes going outside even better! Thank you for your help!”

  • More Balancing, Jumping And Scooping

    Funded Dec 8, 2017

Thank you for the new PE equipment! Having a brand new set of materials makes all kids excited to go outside and play. More play time means more fun, more confidence, and more laughter!

When our HUGE boxes of scoops, jump ropes, and equipment arrived, the kids couldn't focus on anything else. Everyone cheered and whooped as each new item came out of the box. As soon as we were finished unwrapping everything, our class went out to play, jump, and throw. We worked on setting "Personal Best" records when passing the ball, playing with new partners, and increasing the distance between passes. Everyone agreed they were better at catching by the end of the day!

With your support, my class has more exciting options for PE. Thank you for making this possible.”

  • Exploring With Tin Can Robots

    Funded Dec 8, 2017

Thank you for helping our class explore with tin can robots! The robot project was the culminating event of Engineering Week. When the students found out they were going to build their very own robots, squeals of excitement and joyful applause filled the room. Then, the countdown began. We collected tin cans in the classroom, we enlisted volunteers to help, and borrowed tools for the big day. The kids couldn't contain their excitement. Each day, kids would ask, "Is it robot day yet?"

When our day finally came, the class walked into the multipurpose room with cans in hand. Electricity filled the air for almost an hour and a half while kids used screwdrivers, gears, axles, and batteries. Finally, it was time to power up the robots. I have never seen, or heard, so much excitement. Robot battles and robot dances thrilled all who watched.

Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to build robots in school. Students were able to take home their robots to share their learning with family members. Future scientists were inspired that day.”

  • Read and Learn About Our Environment

    Funded Feb 10, 2017

These books are so wonderful and beautifully written! I can see why the series is called Read and Wonder, because as soon as the students are done, they have a lot of questions about the animals they read about! I love the excitement for learning and questioning that these books are bringing about. The Junior Great Books stories are a source of great literature for my students . These stories give them many things to think about such as the importance of being generous and how to stay true to yourself. We appreciate you supporting our classroom. Know that these resources will be cherished for many years to come.”

  • Chromebooks For Me

    Funded Jan 30, 2017

Thanks Tom's of Maine! I can't even begin to express how wonderful it is to have these Chromebooks in our classrooms. It is so exciting to see my students master technology and learn how to use it as a learning tool. We just finished our first Google slides presentation, and when we finished, my students immediately asked if we could do another one. Today we were learning how to use Google Draw to create our own pictures. It is such an exciting time of growth and we are grateful for your support.”

  • Learning About the Environment My Way

    Funded Jan 23, 2017

What a wonderful project this has been to implement. My students LOVE having the stand up desks as a place to come together and collaborate. The chart paper has really given us a central place to record our ideas. One of the great things about the chart paper is that once we are done with the lesson, we can hang our thinking up on the wall and refer back to it through out the unit. The oil pastels, watercolors, watercolor crayons, Sharpies, and Expo markers have made our artwork really pop! The each time we pull out these materials my students light up. We really appreciate you supporting our classroom.”

  • Reading To Protect The Environment

    Funded Jan 23, 2017

What a fun project this is! When I showed my students our new offices, it was the cutest thing. They all cheered and were so excited to have a way to create a personal workspace. My students love being able to read about dolphins, sharks, elephants, and whales. It is amazing how much information is in these National Geographic readers. Osmo is definitely a hit and the timing was perfect. We are working on our money unit and Osmo gave us a practical way to apply our learning. Thank you for supporting our classroom. We appreciate you!”

  • Environmental Solutions, Create and Protect With Osmo

    Funded Jan 3, 2017

My students are so excited to have Osmo Creative Set in our classroom. Each day they want to know if we can use Osmo again. This addition to our Osmo system is perfect. It asks students to be creative, and then their friend Mo makes what they draw come to life right before their eyes! It is magical, and my students love it! I know that being able to interact with Mo will help my students think outside of the box. We appreciate your generous support of education. Thank you for investing in my classroom. We appreciate you!”
