Funded Dec 8, 2017Thank you for helping our class explore with tin can robots! The robot project was the culminating event of Engineering Week. When the students found out they were going to build their very own robots, squeals of excitement and joyful applause filled the room. Then, the countdown began. We collected tin cans in the classroom, we enlisted volunteers to help, and borrowed tools for the big day. The kids couldn't contain their excitement. Each day, kids would ask, "Is it robot day yet?"
When our day finally came, the class walked into the multipurpose room with cans in hand. Electricity filled the air for almost an hour and a half while kids used screwdrivers, gears, axles, and batteries. Finally, it was time to power up the robots. I have never seen, or heard, so much excitement. Robot battles and robot dances thrilled all who watched.
Thank you for giving my students the opportunity to build robots in school. Students were able to take home their robots to share their learning with family members. Future scientists were inspired that day.”
With gratitude,
