  • Smart TV

    Funded Sep 15, 2024

Thank you for funding this project! In our class, students often work in groups. Having a smart tv gives us an additional screen to help the different groups collaborate and share resources. This makes differentiated lessons flow smoothly, and it gives students more freedom when choosing how to work on their projects.

Additionally, students enjoy having the schedule up on the smart tv, especially when the whiteboard is constantly changing throughout the day. It is impactful when we have more options for displaying information in our classroom!

    Thank you for your generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Morikawa

  • Creating With Bare Books

    Funded Sep 14, 2024

Thank you for funding our Bare Books project! Your donation helped us get a class set of books that allow us to use our creativity. As we learn about writing, we get to turn our narrative writing into a picture book. There is nothing better than having the supplies to extend our learning. Who knows? This might be the first book of many for these authors!

Not only do we get to write a book of our own, but we also have a place to record California's great history. From the Native Americans through the Gold Rush to Statehood, we love learning about California!

Thank you for your generosity and kindness.”

  • Printer Ink and More Make Cents!

    Funded Sep 10, 2024

Thank you for helping our classroom get supplies! With your generous donation, we were able to get printer ink and art supplies.

Having the ability to print in the classroom gives all students the access they need to publish their work. Every student enjoys filling their portfolio with work pieces printed in color!

We are thankful for the art supplies! The glue sticks, rulers, wire, and tissue paper will last us the entire year. Not only did we use them to make our social studies board games, but these supplies will be used weekly throughout the entire year!

Thank you for your generosity and kindness.”

  • Scope It Out

    Funded May 10, 2024

We are thrilled to have Scope Magazine in our classroom! Having access to high-interest, nonfiction articles gives my students new and exciting reading material. These stories lead to great discussions where we are able to see things from multiple perspectives. We can discuss the merits of various arguments. The cartoons, photographs, and text features provide a variety of engaging subjects. Having the opportunity to compare and contrast different texts on the same topic gives students a chance to deepen their knowledge while exploring many genres of writing. Thank you!”

    With gratitude,

  • It's a Wonder (2)

    Funded Dec 30, 2023

I wish you could have been in my classroom when the packages for this project were delivered. When I unboxed the packages of the book, Wonder, my students were over the moon to have a new novel to read. This is an endearing story about acceptance, friendship, and empathy. These themes resonate with my students as they work on their social emotional skills.

Thank you for supporting my classroom and for bringing this important story to my students. We will enjoy having it as a core novel for many years.”

  • It's a Wonder

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Reading is such an important part of our classroom. The students want to read all the time, and I often get book requests for our classroom. They are voracious readers!

When I opened the boxes of Wonder, students gasped. It is amazing when every single person can read their own copy! Thank you so much for promoting literacy and helping my students become lifelong readers.

We appreciate your thoughtfulness and the difference you are making in our learning. These books will be treasured for many years to come.”

  • It's a Wonder (3)

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

Thank you for supporting our classroom and helping us get a class set of the book Wonder. This is a sweet story that helps people learn about empathy, kindness, and friendship. Several students wanted to read this book, but it was always checked out when they tried to get it from the library. Your generosity made it possible for each and every student to have a copy of the book and share in the magical experience of reading with classmates. Thank you for not only helping us fulfill our goal of reading voluminously, but also giving us a book that teaches wonderful social emotional skills.

    We are thankful for you.”

  • Books for the New Year

    Funded Dec 29, 2023

This project helps my students read voluminously by providing our class with more books! We are grateful to have class sets of the books Wonder, What was the Gold Rush?, and A Long Way From Chicago. Reading expands the experiences of my students while also allowing them to step into a different place, see a new point of view, or experience life during a different era. It is exciting to see how much fun students have reading new books, especially when they get to read with their classmates.

Thank you for your support and kindness”

  • A Long Way From Chicago (2)

    Funded Dec 28, 2023

Thank you for supporting our classroom and allowing us to get a class set of the book, A Long Way From Chicago. It makes a difference when every child gets a copy of a book so having a class set is really impactful. Students can share the experience of reading together.

In our classroom, we enjoy reading in literature circles and discussing the things we love. The book, A Long Way From Chicago, will inspire great conversations about the antics of Grandma Dowdel and her grandkids, especially since so many students in our class live in multigenerational homes with grandparents!

Thank you for your kindness and generosity.”

  • A Long Way From Chicago

    Funded Dec 27, 2023

Wow! Thank you for your contribution! Your generosity helped our class get a class set of the novel, A Long Way From Chicago, by Richard Peck. This sweet story takes the reader to a rural farm town outside of Chicago during the Great Depression. The adventures of spunky Grandma Dowdel are fun for all.

When students share in the experience of reading the same book, it strengthens our classroom community. This would not be possible without the help of donors like you. We love to read, and we are grateful for your support!”
