STEM Super Stars
Funded Oct 6, 2015An iPad here, an iPad there, an iPad to help me anywhere! Thank you for supporting our project, STEM Super Stars! It has been so wonderful to incorporate these 4 iPads into our daily learning. My students love playing ST Math and First in Math. Both apps allow them to challenge themselves and stretch their learning. It has been great to use the cameras on the iPads and to teach the students more about digital photography. The labels and pens are really keeping us organized! We appreciate the difference you have made in our learning this year. Thank you for supporting our class.”

Dash & Dot, Ignite STEAM Learning
Funded Dec 7, 2015Thank you for support you have given our classroom project, Dash & Dot, Ignite STEAM Learning. It has been so much fun to incorporate these adorable blue robots into our learning and amazing to see how quickly my students are picking up coding! The kids are able to program Dash to play music on the xylophone and to navigate obstacle courses. Dot makes an adorable sidekick, and the bunny ears really give him personality. I know that these experiences will be a highlight as they look back on their 2nd grade year. We appreciate the difference you have made in our learning this year.”

Funded Nov 30, 2015Thank you so much for allowing my students to take part in my project, Ants Go Marching. The books are a huge hit! My students love reading them during our read to self time. Each day they are sharing an interesting fact that they learned from the books. The ant books are especially popular because we see ants everywhere! The apple peeler has been great. Many students have never used a peeler before and it is letting them know there is an easy way to eat a healthy snack. We appreciate the difference you have made in our learning this year. Thank you for supporting our class.”

Investigations That Rock Our Word!
Funded Oct 6, 2015This unit has been fantastic to implement with my students. Their eyes are alive with interest and they are looking for rocks everywhere we go! Students are bringing in rocks they have previously collected, or they are bringing in rocks they have just found. The rock collections themselves were a big hit. It was difficult for students to pick their favorite rock to write about. After examining all rocks, we had a discussion to see which were the favorites. The class tended to like rocks that were either sparkly or transparent. Everyone was excited to design their own pet rock. As you can see, we have everything from Nemo to the a blue monster. Students were able to let their imaginations go and be creative. Thank you for bring our Pebble, Sand, and Silt unit to life for my students. These materials made a big difference in their learning.”

Funded May 27, 2015Thank you for supporting our project, Taking Care of Our Surroundings. We are enjoying learning more about how to protect our environment and leave a smaller footprint. My students are beginning to notice things they didn't notice earlier in the year. For example, they are aware of what should go into the recycle bin and make sure to recycle when they can. We are working on the importance of recycling and several students are bringing in their cans and bottles from home. It is great to see the kids take the information we are learning and make it their own. We appreciate your generosity and know that you are making a difference in our learning!”

Funded May 16, 2015I am so excited that these materials arrived! We have been having a lot of fun both reading the books and working on the challenges. After sharing with the books as a read aloud, my students are constantly heading to the library to check them out to read them again. The STEM challenges have my students minds racing! They are working on how to successfully meet the challenges with a collaborative group. It is great to see the different solutions that are created when given the same beginning materials. We appreciate your generous support of this project.”

Funded May 6, 2015I can't thank you enough for providing these wonderful resources for my classroom! We have been enhancing our learning and adding art in so many areas. Our butterflies are beautiful, and we created them just after releasing our butterflies. Our bugs were created after watching our meal worms turn into beetles. Our eagles were made to decorate our multipurpose room for our June America Sings parent performance. We are using our whiteboards most days to record our thoughts during our discussions. Thank you for supporting the arts in school. It is so important for students to make multiple connections to their learning. You have made such a positive difference in our learning. Thank you!”

Creativity Unleashed with Interactive Journals
Funded Apr 22, 2015This project is awesome! Thank you so much for supporting Creativity Unleashed with Interactive Journals. It is so wonderful to have meaningful nonfiction text that supports our curriculum, and the timing couldn't be better. We just finished learning about butterflies and the information in the magazine supported everything we saw during our investigation. We were able to read about and watch the life cycle of the butterfly at the same time. The students were able to use their interactive journals as a place take good notes and really connect to the topic. They made some amazing pictures of their ideal butterfly. The measuring magazine was also very timely. After reading it, students worked in their journals to make line plots of the information they measured. We appreciate your generous support of the arts in our classrooms.”

Funded Apr 2, 2015Thank you so much for your generous support of my project, Puzzling Our Way to Being Financially Literate. The Ultimate Puzzle is so fun and challenging! My students love working towards being able to solve this puzzle. It is great to hear the problem solving that occurs as the students work together to make this puzzle work. In addition, they are developing a base knowledge of coins and how our money combines in order to make a dollar. You are making a positive difference in our learning. Thank you!”

Funded Apr 6, 2015It is so much fun to spend our money! This project is one that my students love. They are practicing their math skills as they make change, and they are budgeting towards things that they are interested in. My students love the Lego mini figures. This is one of their favorite rewards. They like to build the characters the way they appear on the box, but they also enjoy creating their own characters and making something personal. The Apples to Apples games are a fun way for my students to interact and continue to get to know each other. Thank you for supporting financial literacy in the public schools. It is important that students learn important money skills at a young age! We appreciate you.”
