  • STEM & Aquaculture

    Funded Nov 23, 2024

My students are excited to use the hydroponics materials to grow herbs/spinach in different environmental conditions with the fish providing them with the nitrogen. They have never grown anything before.

I am excited because I can hopefully reuse the materials like the clay pellets each year by sterilizing them at the end of use. This will make this project be something that can continue for years.

Thanks for making my science classroom more enjoyable by having materials to do real science. They can observe the nitrogen cycle firsthand as the plants grow floating.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

This classroom project was brought to life by Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation and 5 other donors.
  • Building Tissue Models

    Funded Sep 27, 2024

My students are so excited to have materials to build their tissue models with. They are hands on learners and it is hard for students to visualize the four difference types of tissues in anatomy and physiology. They have a variety of building materials and ways to connect them all.

Thank you so much for helping my students make connections. Your donations make a huge difference.

Since I work at a technical high school, my students look forward to doing projects. Thanks for making their creations possible.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

  • Environmental Focus

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

My students are excited with the new school year and the new supplies from donors choose for them to use in creating projects/models/storybooks.

Since my students are vocational students, my students were able to incorporate their shop into their story about the marine world. My early education students wrote the books for the children that they work with. Other students wrote the story so that they can read it to their brother/sisters.

Having materials to create models and to laminate their pages so that they are preserved made a huge difference.”

  • Go Science

    Funded Apr 24, 2024

My students are so happy to have Kleenex, febreeze and cleaning wipes. We put them right to use in our dissection lab. Since colds linger and allergies begin this spring, my students were so glad to have tissues to have.

Having materials to build with like the glue enable my students to build and glue things that they have created. It brings such joy to my students for them to have materials to use. It makes such a difference in my students lives that they have materials to do science. We so much appreciate your donations. The donations are put right to use.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Supporter and 2 other donors.
  • Under the Sea

    Funded Mar 21, 2024

Thank you for materials for my students to use and to create with. Since I teach a large number of students, we use a lot of materials. Having tape to create and then to hang and display student work is so nice.

Having the opportunity to laminate their work and directions for labs for students enables me to have their work preserved as well as my making fewer copies for next few years.

My students benefit from the materials that they have from donors choose. It makes a different daily in their lives. We appreciate you.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

This classroom project was brought to life by A family that cares about Boston and 4 other donors.
  • Science Rocks

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

My students are so glad to have materials to learn about muscles with. As you can see in the photos, my students are learning about muscle groups and muscle fibers and how muscles got their names.

It is so helpful to have the large ziploc bags so that students play dough could be preserved for the next day. This has made the winter more bearable at my inner city school north of Boston. Having stuff to be able to do science is so helpful. The materials to build make a huge difference daily in the lives of my students.

Thank you donors-you make my teaching more fun.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

  • Basic Science Stuff

    Funded Jul 27, 2023

My students helped put pencils and markers into the pencil cases which makes the distribution of materials so much easier. As I set up labs for the class, having the plastic trays helps me organize materials and helps students carry the materials to the space.

My appreciate the Kleenex and the markers and it's nice to have materials for all students especially during Covid and flu season so they don't have to share. My students use the cleaning cloths as we do practice work or bell ringers and the cleaning cloths make it simpler to clean their white boards.

It is so cool that you supported my classroom. It makes a huge difference.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

This classroom project was brought to life by Kleenex and 4 other donors.
  • STEM And Healthy Living

    Funded Jun 27, 2023

Thank you for helping my classroom this year my students have put the materials right to work. The materials enable to my students to have hands on materials to learn.

Having the specific gravity kits and artificial urine give my science students an opportunity to learn authentically . They will be testing the urine to see what is wrong with the "person" in their authentic lab. This will help them understand what a urinalysis can screen for.

As you can see in the photos my students are already using the percussion hammer in testing their reflexes. So cool!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

  • Building Science Models

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

My large classes of students now have materials so that they can build models independently or in a group which makes a huge difference. They now have scissors to cut materials. The play dough is helpful for them to build models of abstract science concepts. Having large ziploc bags means they can work on their materials over several days and their work won't dry out.

My students are such hands on learners and having materials to use to build and create has brought an excitement to the classroom.

Thank you for partnering with me and donors choose for my students”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

  • Basic Materials for Science

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

My students put the basic science materials to work right away. They use the tissues and basic materials daily. They really enjoyed and felt like they learned their muscle groups better because they had the play dough to build the muscle fibers in different colors. The play dough made all the difference in their learning. I explained that they did a study with medical students who learned with play dough and without and those students who had tactile learning learned more faster.

Thank you for so quickly funding my project. Since this group of students were remote for a period in the past couple of years, they were particularly thankful and me too.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Montemurro

This classroom project was brought to life by Panda Cares and 3 other donors.
My students like to use manipulatives to learn. They are from many different countries and speak many different languages and daily we work together to make science real to them. Many students have not had many lab opportunities and are excited to be able to learn while doing science.
