The students in my class are 3rd-5th graders who have been seen as "at risk" and are receiving Tier 3 intervention in Reading and Math. They come from many different backgrounds, but many of them come from low income homes and are on free/reduced lunch. Most of the students in my room have already "decided" that they hate reading and, therefore, don't read often. I want these students to learn to become better readers and to instill confidence in themselves and their ability! Once they have confidence in their ability, they will learn to love reading and math.
