Fun-filled End of the Year Writing Kit
Funded May 28, 2024In behalf of my 8th grade scholars, I would like to express my sincerest gratitude for your generous donations to my classroom. Because of your support, we now have essential resources like paper, note cards, dry erase markers, and pencils that are being put to great use every single day.
My students were absolutely thrilled when they saw the vibrant array of dry erase markers. For many of them, it was a delightful upgrade from the usual black ink markers we had been using. Their excitement was palpable as they eagerly used the markers during classroom discussions , with some even choosing their favorite colors to write their responses to my questions on their white boards. It's amazing how such a simple change brought so much joy and made learning more engaging.

Funded Oct 10, 2018The technology bundle we received from you because of your generosity and commitment to education has tremendously helped me achieve the goals and objectives my students and I have set for this school year. With our new HP laptop and printer, my students have an easy access to technology devices that are crucial in creating projects and presentations. We are grateful for these generous donations especially because they are essential tools in our literacy program/curriculum. We now have a reliable laptop that allows us to enrich our classroom experience through digital content. The printer gives us a wide range of options because it is capable of printing from different sources due to its wifi capability. Materials for our creative projects have become more accessible also because of these devices.

Funded Feb 5, 2018The day I received the resources for my classroom was one of the best days we have ever had as a class this school year, and the supplies came at the most opportune time! Our classroom has gone through hardship in terms of supplies and resources. We were, literally, running on the last drop of ink and on the last sheet of paper when I received the email confirming that my project, "Creative Reading and Writing" has been fully funded!
When the shipment came, and I began unboxing each item, there were shouts of glee from amongst my students. They could not contain their joy when one of our office staff wheeled in not one, but two boxes of copy paper. They have been fully aware of the fact that I have been recycling all sorts of paper (which is a good thing!) for printing their activities, assessments, and homework assignments. One of the resources they truly enjoy and keeps them motivated to participate are the mini white boards and the mini erasers with emojis! Oh, how they love writing their responses on those boards and showing them with pride to their classmates whenever I do a quick check for understanding after a lesson.
In the next few weeks, my students will be working on a book project in which they will need markers, chart papers, and pictures off the Internet. The writing utensils, as well as the ink and chart tablets that were donated, will come in handy as they work on their book projects to show their creativity and originality in producing authentic book reviews.
The hardworking staff of Donorschoose has been heaven-sent for teachers like me, and the generous donors have been the blessings that always pour in when we are most in dire need of help. I will be forever indebted to you. May you continue to be blessed with the work of your hands!”

Literacy in the 21st Century
Funded Oct 2, 2017My students use technology on a daily basis to complete some required assignments, projects, and assessments. The Dell laptop that was donated to my classroom has become a reliable tool for my 7th grade scholars to access their digital resources. They love the wider and bigger screen because it allows them to multi-task! With this feature, they can simultaneously search the web for information and use any of the Windows programs available in the laptop. They are also amazed by the fact that it is sturdy and reliable. The laptop has become a consistent tool that has enhanced their learning of reading and writing skills. My students and I are truly grateful for the generosity of Chevron and the support of Donorschoose staff which made this blessing to my classroom possible! May you continue to be blessings to other students and educators!”

Readers Today, Global Graduates Tomorrow
Funded Oct 30, 2015For the past three years, you have been very generous to me and my students. You have continually supported me with reading resources and technology devices that have allowed me to help fuel the minds of my young readers. The resources you have provided for my class have pushed my students to cope with the demands and rigor of learning, especially in reading using critical-thinking skills.
This year, you have once again shared a great blessing to my class just before the holidays, a MacBook Air that has given my students a very reliable resource for reading and research. They have enjoyed learning what is required to use "Apple Technology." On the days my students use the laptop, I could see the twinkle in their eyes and the eagerness to launch their group discussion with the aid of this technology. They enjoy an uninterrupted, free from technological glitches research and reading time!

21st Century Readers
Funded Oct 28, 2014My students have never been this excited about reading. When they see me in the hallway, they're anxious to find out if they'll be able to read from their Kindle! They can't wait for Friday to come because that's the day I usually schedule Camp-Read-A-Lot for my classes. Before I had these additional resources in the classroom, it was a struggle getting them to read beyond 20 minutes, but there is something about ereaders that give my students the spark to read more. Although I only have 4 Kindle at this time, I created a rotation schedule that allow all of my students to have read from one of the Kindles at least once a week. More important to note is the fact that my ESL students and my struggling readers are now more motivated to read. The Kindle Fire items have, indeed, kindled in my students a renewed passion for reading. It is my hope that they will become more discerning, critical thinkers through the vicarious experiences they get from reading. Thank you very much, once again, for your generosity and benevolence in supporting my students. You have made a great impact in their young lives by creating an avenue for them to learn how to love reading!”

Read to Succeed
Funded Dec 30, 2013Your generosity has made it possible for my students to enjoy wandering into different worlds and wondering at the many marvels their reading journey has to offer. My classroom has become abuzz with the sounds of excited chatter, mostly about the books they have read and enjoyed. My students come from different reading backgrounds, and slowly but surely, my reluctant readers have become more involved in our reading circles and my advanced/independent readers have become more discerning of their reading choices. Needless to say, they are all excited to read, complete their reading logs daily, and eager to check out the next book. Gone are the days when I have to "bribe" them to pick up a book and read, and for my group of students, this has been a great leap! The books you have donated to my students have provided them with a wide array of reading choices, and for this, I am very thankful.
