• Snacks for the School Day in Occupational Therapy!

  I would just like to take the opportunity to thank our donors for helping to fund the snacks and goodies that was requested for the students in my occupational therapy class. I see students at various times throughout the day and very often they are hungry or looking to have something to munch on during their time with me.

  There are also students who are in other groups that have been able to enjoy the benefits of this donation as they know that Ms. Melissa always has goodies and snacks if they are hungry.

• Storage Cart For Classwork

  We are so grateful for all of the donations but specifically we are thankful for the storage cart that you helped fund for the OT room. We have been able to increase our storage capacity by having these drawers for materials that the students use to the actual finished crafts that the students complete throughout the school year.

  We do a lot of crafts and activities that involve glue, coloring, and pasting and often need time to dry so these draws have been really helpful. Thank you again for your help in providing the storage cart for the OT room.”

• Back to School Healthy Snacks

  Thank you so much to the donors for allowing us to have items for our students, especially those foods that help to keep them going during the OT sessions, which may often be during snack time or long after they have had their lunch.

  During the OT sessions, our students receive positive reinforcement for working hard and trying their best, through a sticker chart. When they earn a certain amount of stickers, they receive a prize, which some of the items from this order went to. Thank you again for the support!”

• Lamination in Occupational Therapy

  Thank you so much for donating to my project that was fully funded last spring! Unfortunately, the laminator that we had broke and so this new laminator has been a great help. We are always making things for the students to use in OT, or posters to hang up, or for the bulletin board so it has been really great to have it again.

  In the future, we will continue to use the laminator to preserve paper and laminate tools that can be reusable, so your donation was great for the environment as well! Thanks again!”

• Macbook for Occupational Therapy

  Thank you for donating to our project. We are really appreciative of the money that you give for not only our students at PS 8's education but to all of those that put projects on this website. You make it happen for us.

  Having an the MacBook has been really helpful in my classroom. I am able to download certain programs that help with typing and that help with various therapeutic activities without it being blocked.

  Many of our students are also learning to type as a part of their individualized education plan so it is really helping me teach them as well.

• Snacks and Hygiene products for OT Classroom!

  We are so appreciative of the items that you donated to the OT room! Our students are always loving something to have a bite to eat so we have a great stash to provide them a bite to eat while they work on their writing or after their exercises! Another way that we use these items is whenever our students come to their OT sessions and follow the rules of our classroom, they earn a sticker. After 5, 10, 15, 20 stickers, they earn price from the snack jar. So, they will often choose a snack or item from the snack jar after earning the stickers.

• Help Our Students Improve Motor and Sensory Skills in Ot

  Thank you so much for providing our students with fine motor and crafting activities that they can utilize during OT sessions to improve fine motor skills, sensory processing, and visual motor skills. We truly appreciate your generosity. We have already used the magnetic designer, the sort and snap, and some of the painting tools that the students are really enjoying. You also funded lacing and letter matching items that the younger students are having a blast with, while also learning and improving the academic skills needed to succeed.”
