  • Science Listening Center

    Funded Dec 29, 2014

My students are enjoying the science listening center. Having multiple copies of the same book and can listen to the book being read to them has helped improve their reading fluency and comprehension. The students are excited when they get to go to the listening center. It is incredible to listen to them discuss as a group about the different animals they read about.

The students use the books and cd's at a listening story and have the opportunity to go to the listening center three times a week. They get to go to the listening story and work together to chose a story and then write about what they learned.

This project boosted my students interest levels in animals and learning about science. It has increased their interest and understanding of nonfiction books.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

  • Organized Tables

    Funded Jan 9, 2015

Thank you so much for your wonderful donation. It has made a huge difference in my classroom for the students and myself. The students were excited to have the chair pockets, it has helped them stay organized and quickly find their materials.

The materials are being used daily in the classroom. The students keep their pencils in the pencil pouch and are able to keep track of their writing materials while moving around in centers. The chair pockets allow the students to quickly obtain their materials without having to worry about not having desks.

This project being funded has boosted my teaching and my students learning. Now we are not distracted by students opening and closing their desks because they can now reach into their chair pockets. Students are able to keep track of their writing materials which helps teach the students responsibility and allows them to complete their work.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

I teach an exciting group of second graders. They are excited to learn and are always ready to learn the next thing. They are transitioning from learning how to read and use math skills to advancing their skills to help them become life long learners. We constantly talk about the fact that mistakes help us learn and the power of yet, it's okay to not know but not okay to not try. I can't wait to see their growth over the year and watch them learn.
