  • Supplies for Classroom Success

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you so much for the materials for our classroom! My students were so excited when they were able to get new dry erase markers and new markers for art! They love being able to practice telling time on their own analog clocks, they enjoy changing the minute and hour hand. It is helpful for each student to have their own clock to manipulate instead of having to use a paper clock that will tear. The paper bags have been amazing, the students love decorating the bags to use for gift bags or for projects. These materials have been so beneficial to our classroom, we always have enough supplies!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

  • Chapter Books for Young Readers

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you for the books!!! My students were so excited to have new books and couldn't wait to read them! They loved that there were series where they could continue reading about the characters when after they finished the first book! The books were perfect, they are high interest books but in a variety of different reading levels so everyone had something to read that was just right for them! Having a library with a variety of books at different levels is really important to me, I always want my students to be able to find a book that they want to read but is at their reading level. Thank you for helping me provide that in my classroom!”

  • Measuring Fun!

    Funded Nov 29, 2023

Thank you so much for your donations! This has given my students an opportunity to learn measurement with hands on materials! They love going to the sensory table and using the liquid measuring cups and bottles to see how much is in the cup, compare the amount of liquids in different sizes, and just to explore. They have enjoyed using the measuring tapes to see what the length of items are in our classroom and to see how tall they are. The games have been a great way to practice what they have learned. I know my students now have a better understanding of the measurement concept!”

  • Wobble to Learn

    Funded Sep 6, 2023

Thank you for giving my class 6 wobble stools!!! This has been a game changer for my students who benefit from some movement while learning! My students are able to focus more and are less likely to distract their peers with their movements! Also since they are light, they are easily moved around the classroom which allows students the ability to use them in different areas of the classroom and even to bring them to the carpet! Since there are 6, more students have the opportunity to use them, and students are able to take turns with them. Thank you so much for supporting my students with these stools!”

  • Desk Organizers for Increased Learning

    Funded Aug 2, 2023

These desk organizers have made a huge impact in our classroom! It is easy for my students to put and find items in their desk! They can easily pull out their organizer to find what they need! Now we don't have to worry about finding where items are in the desks, we can pull out the desk organizers and quickly find what we are looking for! This makes are areas organized and allows for easier transitions because we can quickly find what we need!

Thank you so much!! The students were so excited to have them on the first day of school, they quickly went to work on organizing their spaces!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

  • Phonemic Awareness and Decodable Books

    Funded May 9, 2023

I've always know that phonemic awareness was important when teaching reading, but as I've been learning about the Science of Reading I have learned that it is something that needs to be incorporated! Phonemic awareness allows students to understand and be aware of the way sounds work in words and allows them to play with the words. This helps them for the patterns in reading.

Third graders typically don't have access to phonemic awareness but your donation to my project will allow me to bring phonemic awareness to my classroom to support my readers. Having the phonemic awareness curriculum and decodable books helps them as they are developing their reading ability while reading books at their reading level.

They love phonemic awareness time, they get to say nonsense words, find rhyming words, take off and add word parts, while using interactive hand motions.”

  • Multisensory Phonics Toolkit for Learning

    Funded Mar 8, 2023

In my reading groups, we are practicing decoding words! This means we break down the word into parts and then put the parts back together to blend (read) the word. This can be challenging for new readers, but having the multisensory toolkit has made a difference their ability to break apart the words and then blend them back together!

My students love using the magnets and chips. They can place a chip down for each sound, then run the magnet over the chips as they read the word. They also can feel the different parts of the word as they use the press-ums and press down for each sound. The ability to use their senses and movements help make decoding words fun while also enhancing their learning.

Thank you so much for making this possible for my class!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

  • Books for All Readers

    Funded Apr 15, 2023

My students love to read! They regularly get to look through my book library to choose books to put in their books bins. Then every day we have Independent Reading Time around the room. They get to take their book bins to different places in the classroom, they can sit on the floor, in comfortable chairs, lay on the carpet, and read!

I can make reading comfortable, but without a variety of books at my students different reading levels, I am unable to challenge and engage them in their reading. These books are giving my students the opportunity to choose books that are interesting to them but will help them become stronger readers. My students can use the skills we are learning in reading groups and directly apply them when reading these new chapter books. The books we had before, did not provide this opportunity.

I am so incredibly thankful to have these books in my classroom library!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

  • Sensory in Kindergarten

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

I can't thank you enough for funding this project! My students are always excited to come in and see what new sensory materials are available for them to manipulate and discover! With multiple sensory tubs, I'm able to have a a variety of sensory materials for them to choose from daily such as water, sand, water beads, gak, etc. They are able to easily access the tubs and choose the materials they would like to use to explore the sensory materials. This was such a need in my classroom! They needed to have the opportunity to manipulate sensory materials, opportunities to fill, dump, pour, etc. Thank you for bringing this to my classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Mawet

  • Table and Chairs for Kitchen Fun!

    Funded Aug 9, 2022

My students gravitated to my dramatic play center once the table was included! The dramatic play center went from an unwanted center to a wonderful place for students to express their creativity. They enjoy going into the kitchen and making dinner to "eat" at the table, they love putting the baby dolls at the table to feed them, they love sitting at the table and having having conversations. This was a much needed addition to my kindergarten classroom and I can't wait to see all of the different ways my class Incorporates the table into their dramatic play.”

I teach an exciting group of second graders. They are excited to learn and are always ready to learn the next thing. They are transitioning from learning how to read and use math skills to advancing their skills to help them become life long learners. We constantly talk about the fact that mistakes help us learn and the power of yet, it's okay to not know but not okay to not try. I can't wait to see their growth over the year and watch them learn.
