I came into this classroom 2 days before school started. It has been a work in progress trying to gather furniture and materials available to provide my students an environment wherein they can learn and have fun. Our current classroom has a kitchen set and materials that seem to have been very well used over the years. The doors are broken, handles missing and it is almost time for it to go. Dramatic play is an important part in the early childhood classroom. Your donation of a corner play kitchen, table and chair set, and kitchen accessories, will create a dramatic play area that will help my students use their imagination and creativity. It will develop and enhance their social, emotional, communication, and problem solving skills. They will be able to apply concepts they are learning in language arts, math, science and social studies, and solidify them. With the demands of testing, standards and such, my students need this area to have fun and be kids again.
