• My First Graders are HUNGRY for Technology!

  Thank you so much for your kind donation! You do not know what a HUGE impact you have made on our classroom. We use this projector everyday and the children LOVE it! We use it during calendar time and math. The children get so excited when I turn the projector on! Also, we use educational videos to help us count in the mornings while we exercise as we count by 2s, 5s, and 10s. These videos are great because they provide much needed visuals for my students who are beginning to learn English. Thank you for providing my students with technology! You are wonderful!”

• 1st Graders Need a New Rug to Replace the Old Rug!

  Wow! We LOVE our new rug! The students were so surprised to have this beautiful looking rug. We use it all the time. We use it during calendar time, read alouds, and independent classroom library time. It is nice to see the little first graders sprawled on the carpet comfortably enjoying a good book. This carpet has made our classroom so cozy and inviting. We have many teachers coming in to our classroom to complement our beautiful rug (we are the envy of our school). Thank you for providing my students with a nice classroom that they look forward to coming to everyday.”

• Picture Books For Our Classroom Library Please!

  Thank you for making my first graders feel so special! They were so happy to receive the new picture books in the mail. They couldn't believe that some wonderful people purchased these books for them. When we received the box we opened it immediately and we explored all of the titles together. Next, I read them a story from their new books and they got to borrow them immediately to take them home and share with their families. My students are so happy to have these books that will help them appreciate literature and learn how to read!”

• Mimio Interactive for my Marvelous First Graders!

  Thank you so much for donating to our project! We love the Mimio Interactive Whiteboard! You should see my first graders faces light up when we use the Mimio and they pay really close attention to everything on the board. They are captivated by the lessons being taught through the Mimio. It is wonderful to expose them to this fancy technology that more privileged schools are using too. We use the Mimio during calendar time and all of the students want to participate, our class participation has definitely increased now that we use the Mimio. Thank you for giving my students a chance at a quality education!”

• More Books for Hungry 1st Grade Readers!

  Thank you so much for your life changing donations and your generosity! The children loved the new books and they could not wait to READ them! When the box arrived we immediately opened it and the students had a chance to explore the many exciting titles. We received many books that were multicultural so the students responded positively to those selections and they were happy to see some books that were written in both their languages (English/Spanish) like N is for Navidad, but the class favorite was definitely Always Lots of Heinies at the Zoo because it was so funny! We are very grateful that you gave us the gift of literacy, thank you!”

• Fund Our Earth Day Project!

  WOW! Thank you for your generous donation! The students are so happy with the NEW books that were added to our classroom library. We celebrated Earth Day all through the month of April and these books were really effective in teaching my students to care about their environment. Since my students are from low income homes they sometimes lack environmental awareness education and this grant provided a great opportunity to educate my students about this important topic. Thank you for helping me educate my students about our beautiful earth!”

• The Beauty of the Butterfly Life Cycle

  Thank you so much for your generous donation! With your donation I ordered enough butterflies for each student and they arrived to us as caterpillars and currently they are at the chrysalis/cocoon stage and any day now they should hatch and become beautiful butterflies. My students are captivated by this experience of having real butterflies in the classroom. They observe and record their observations in their science journal everyday and they are so eager to do it! It is also helpful that through this grant we got some lovely kid friendly magnifying glasses that they use during their observations. It is wonderful to see the love and care that they use when taking care of their caterpillar/butterfly; this experience is definitely teaching my students to take care of nature and appreciate its beauty! • Feed the Hungry 1st Graders!

  Thank you for choosing to feed my hungry first graders! They are so hungry for picture books and they were so happy to get new books for our classroom library! We immediately opened our package upon arrival and added these new books to our display bookshelf. Currently these books are flying off our shelf, they are so popular! My students especially love the Robert Munsch books because they are really funny. Thank you for promoting a love for literature in my classroom you are truly making a difference in my first graders lives!”

• Help Bring Technology to Underprivileged First Graders!

  Thank you for your wonderful donation! We can not believe that we have a PC tablet computer for our classroom! Our next step is to get a data projector through another donors choose grant and then we can connect it to the PC tablet and have our lessons displayed for all the students to see. The students are so excited to use the PC tablet computer and we are gradually allowing them to use it during centers time. Since most of my students do not have computers at home it is wonderful that they are getting exposed to technology! Thank you for providing these valuable learning experiences for my students.”

• Radius Will Help Us! (Part 2)

  Thank for your generous donations that provided us with 3 sets of radius cards for our classroom. The students were really excited to use the Radius cards once we opened the package. We immediately started to use them during literacy centers and the children really enjoy working with the Radius machine and using these cards. They are learning their long and short vowels thanks to this much needed material. Thank you for providing my students with this valuable learning experience!”
